Orienteering 2:20:00 [3] 9.3 km (15:03 / km)
Orienteering at Macedon Pines. Not one of my favourite areas or better efforts. As discussed earlier in the week, I saved my sore knee for the weekend and it hurt all the way - which meant walking most of it, as the terrain was either pines with slippery slash underneath, fallen timber or bracken, and knee did not like the twists and turns.
The event started to feel like a rogaine - with the type of bush, the location of the most of the controls (vague) and the time involved. I ended up an MP, as I didn't read my control descriptions and mistook a gully for the spur. The funny thing was - I was thinking, as I headed towards to finish line, that I really didn't need to carry the control desciptions any more. How wrong can you be!
I did help a few old ladies on the way - as a walker is always fair game to the lost. I could have and should have helped Trollop - but she isn't old enough to qualify for assistance.
