Run 1:17:00 [3] 11.2 km (6:53 / km)

A jog around the bike paths and lakes of Shepparton. Knee was extremely painful for the first km, then I stretched it and selected my cambur carefully, so then it was OK.

Saturday Apr 28, 2012 #

Swim 35:00 [2] 1.0 km (35:00 / km)

Swim in the Benalla pool.

Thursday Apr 26, 2012 #

Swim 35:00 [2] 1.0 km (35:00 / km)

A swim in the almost deserted Ringwood pool, which was in stark contrast to the Nuna pool. I got a lane to myself.

Full marks today for the Telstra call-taker in the post call customer satisfaction survey after he rechecked my stated date of birth - 'I just need to check I heard correctly - because you sound much younger than that.' Very clever!

Note

Horrible cold day. But yay , l sold the house today. With a 30 day settlement. It was a lovely house - but you can't live everywhere....

Monday Apr 23, 2012 #

Swim 35:00 [2] 1.0 km (35:00 / km)

Swim in the very crowded Nuna pool, with lots of stops, so time is a guess. Knee is not too bad affer yesterday but back is sore..

Orienteering 2:20:00 [3] 9.3 km (15:03 / km)

Orienteering at Macedon Pines. Not one of my favourite areas or better efforts. As discussed earlier in the week, I saved my sore knee for the weekend and it hurt all the way - which meant walking most of it, as the terrain was either pines with slippery slash underneath, fallen timber or bracken, and knee did not like the twists and turns.

The event started to feel like a rogaine - with the type of bush, the location of the most of the controls (vague) and the time involved. I ended up an MP, as I didn't read my control descriptions and mistook a gully for the spur. The funny thing was - I was thinking, as I headed towards to finish line, that I really didn't need to carry the control desciptions any more. How wrong can you be!

I did help a few old ladies on the way - as a walker is always fair game to the lost. I could have and should have helped Trollop - but she isn't old enough to qualify for assistance.

Swim 35:00 [2] 1.0 km (35:00 / km)

A swim in the Ringwood pool before visiting the Heathmont house which was again open for inspection this morning.

Wednesday Apr 18, 2012 #

Walk 53:00 [2] 5.3 km (10:00 / km)

Walk around Blackburn. I'm trying to save sore knee for the weekend.

Sunday Apr 15, 2012 #

Walk 53:00 [2] 5.3 km (10:00 / km)

I've been gardening all day and the best I could manage was a walk tonight.

Saturday Apr 14, 2012 #

Run 32:00 [3] 4.7 km (6:49 / km)

Friday Apr 13, 2012 #

Walk 1:00:00 [2] 6.0 km (10:00 / km)

Walk around Blackburn Creeklands.

Wednesday Apr 11, 2012 #

Swim 36:00 [3] 1.0 km (36:00 / km)

Another swim in the Benalla pool. For some reason, the water felt as though it had turned into 'heavy water' as it seemed so much harder to move through. I stretched afterwards - it is amazing how quickly swimming and stretching restore back and knee health!

Despite all odds - I actually managed to get a fair bit of work done yesterday and am hoping for the same today - although I started badly by trying to fit in a gardening session and the swim before starting.

Swim 36:00 [3] 1.0 km (36:00 / km)

A swim in the Benalla pool and a good stretch afterwards which helped my back and knee considerably. The pool had only a couple of other patrons. The Easter tourists seem to have gone home and the place is now looking somewhat deserted. I am staying up here for the week to *work*. I have a lot to catch up on and I thought a few days here might help. However there are already a number of distractions - the pool, the housework which needs to be done ......and the start of a bumper crop of feijoas which need to be turned into various culinary delights :)

Monday Apr 9, 2012 #

Run 55:35 [3] 8.0 km (6:57 / km)

A run around Wangaratta. My knee was really sore by the end but a bit of a stretchout afterwards helped.

Sunday Apr 8, 2012 #

Run 31:00 [3] 4.7 km (6:36 / km)

A run at Reef Hills. Happy Easter everyone!

Saturday Apr 7, 2012 #

Swim 35:00 [2] 1.0 km (35:00 / km)

Swim in the Benalla pool.

Run 30:30 [3] 4.64 km (6:34 / km)

Run around Benalla Lake.

I'm spending Easter at Benalla - trying to get a number of things in order. There are a lot of tourists around - but not enough to justify the eight extra police cars in town - plus the mounted police (2 horse floats). They must be expecting a riot.

Sunday Apr 1, 2012 #

Run 42:53 [3] 6.0 km (7:09 / km)

A bit of a plod around Blackburn Lake and Creeklands. No pain. Knee is starting to get better.
