42 (ish, sometimes having a Garmin would be good) k at 6 min/k pace and finishing really strongly, what a difference lack of wind, jelly babies and starting to eat/drink early makes, also not having huge book in my bag for the train journey was quite good. Some beautiful bits of coastline, good weather and some sandy/stony sections. Very pleased:)

23 ish miles, 37k, got lost twice so unclear quite how far I went and the second time left me stuck between railway and a dual carriageway so had to hitch the last few k, annoying but was quite tired, ridiculously windy, almost blown over twice and clearly very important to get the food right, feel ok now but had somewhat run out of energy out there, slowed a lot towards the end, bag was quite heavy but not too much of a problem, several days like that with probably heavier bag and more sand and crazy heat seems like a totally mad idea though! Coastline was beautiful though:)
