orienteering 39:13 [2] *** 4.05 km (9:42 / km) +65m 8:58 / km

After another fun time babysitting I borrowed Mike's Brown map and went out for a few controls. Beautiful pine trees, pine needle covered grounds, white birch stems in cute swamps and yellow/orange/red leaves everywhere. I took it all in, the feeling, the smells, so happy to be out there.

Note

Saw Gina the chiropractor for the 10th time. She did her thing and then she started telling me about Dr Guan, also in Cheshire, who've successfully treated her, her daughter, her patients and friends for various symptoms with acupuncture.
I figured I rather try small needles than a big cortisone shot.. gave them a call while I was up there and they were able to fit me in. Dr Guan didn't say much and quickly got to work. He put a few needles in the painful area, left me laying under a heating lamp for maybe half an hour. Then he came back, took the needles out, made me stand up and then bend over, resting the upper body on a pile of pillows on the bench. He then continued with pressing around the left side lower back/hip, asking if it hurt and when I said yes he would stab me with something that felt like a bunch of needles. Each time a few stabs ending with one that felt deep and painful, followed by some pumping/sucking and wiping off my skin, blood?
That was it, then he said "you're fine now". I was confused and amazed, one treatment?! I told him Gina suspects I have inflamed tendons deep inside of my SI-joint and he just said "I don't think so". He also said "you can book another appointment but I don't think you need it".

Amazing but also annoying. I have wasted a lot of pain, frustration, time and money on this injury. And I can't help but to partly blame the American healthcare. Anyway I'm hoping this was it, that I'm healed.

Dark outside and cold when you get out of bed, definitely more of an effort to get up in the morning. Still feels good once at the gym and even better after class. I think I'm there super early but I always meet people leaving the gym when I get there(!)

yoga 1:30:00 [2]

Hot yoga. Woo, intense. Lots of pretzely poses, Lori the teacher kind of pushes you if you're almost there, cool, did some things I didn't think I would be able to. We did a neat core exercise, think it was called a "hollow body rock".
