Late afternoon ride on a cool sunny day. Figured the wind might lay down a little, but no such luck. Low 30s, NW 10-15. Also went for a longish walk in the North Quabbin earlier. Beautiful.

Upper 20s at start, low 30s at finish, W 15-20. A chilly morning but sunny, and the wind was likely to get stronger, so figured I'd just head out on the early side. A pleasant ride, mainly because I had decided to take it easy. And I actually did.

About 35F, W20-25. Wanted to get out and do something. Thought I might do a few times up Claybrook Road and leave it at that. Maybe not the smartest plan, no warm-up, and by the second time up I was already croaking.
On the other hand, I certainly wasn't cold.
On to plan B, figured I ought to be warm enough to put up with a some wind for a bit. So I crossed the river and headed the short distance over to Tri-Town Beach to see if there was any action. There wasn't, so a quick u-turn, back to the bridge, this time sailing with the wind, and back home via the Town Park, preferring some hills to full exposure to a crosswind.
Glad I got it done, but it's hard on the lungs and the legs when you're going under in the first few minutes. Never really recovered.

Whately loop, counter-clockwise. about 40, E 5-10, storm coming, a little more snow. Easy pace except for the uphills, when there seems to be no such thing as an easy pace. Some things never change.
