Trekking 7:20:00 [3] 40.0 km (11:00 / km)
shoes: Adidas Kanadia II 1

Walk through the Pakahi Track with Mark and Annie.
Dropped at top of track by Brian.

Excellent track that contoured around with no climbing at all.
Extended by a few hours at the end when Brian got the wrong road for pickup so we kept heading for Opotiki.

Ride from Opotiki to Motu township with Mark, Annie, Isak, Sonja, Erin and Alan.
Steady ride with pack. As we approached Motu snow on the hills in the distance and cold showers.

Kayak 50:00 [3]

Paddle with Mark down to end of marina and back from club.
Pretty choppy in UFO, but Mark was in his K1!

Running 49:50 [3]

Orienteering street series at back of One Tree Hill.
Ran along ok, about half way through tweaked my Right lateral calf muscle.
Backed off and completed but slightly uncomfortable.

Running 50:00 [3]

Gentle run along the Okura walkway to the steps above the beach.
Pretty muddy, took it easy, legs still feeling a bit tired.

Rollerblading 1:10:00

Over to Orakei school and around and around chasing a ball with the hockey stick. Tried some gentle uphill which was ok, and downhill which was out of control. Then went along Rautara street a few times by home which was a bit more interesting than around and around the school.
Getting fluid, but still have the occasional arm flap.

Kayak race 1:15:32 [5]

!st leg of day 2 Coromandel Classic.
Paddled well overall.
Stayed right at start although saw Mark going wide left.
Portaged and gained some ground through a disorganised bunch.
Kept my eye on Mark and followed his lines through (our) second portage while the bulk of the bunch went further left, made a lot of ground.
Paddled with and on the wash of dreadlocked Opus guy for most of the way up to the twisty stuff. Carl Meyer came by. Right at end Nathan caught up and passed when I muffed going up the the last little rapid. Pleased with paddle.

Cycling race (road bike) 55:20 [4]

Another steady but not overly speedy effort on the bike.
Lost a lot of time to individuals that I had beat off the water.
Rode for a short time with Jono and Seamus before another bunch came past and I was spat out.
Time included transition onto bike from kayak, and onto run from bike.

Running race 1:58:13 [5]

Trying hard but not going fast.
Despite eating well started to run out of gas near the top where it opens out.
Steady down the hill and running ok by the time I got to the bottom.
Passed by James K on the downhill making me look pretty slow.

Cycling race (road bike) 1:16:47 [5]

Pretty much just hanging on into the head wind on the way home.
Got a tow from Darren D for about 1km, then from Alan for about 10. Fell off Alan's wheel just past Kopu bridge turn off and grovelled the rest of the way. Felt a bit washed out at the end but no more pep left in legs.
Sore bum was worst of problems at the end.
Time included run to bike transition.

Thoughts from event at the end of the weekend.
paddled well, ran ok, but need to work hard on riding.
