Orienteering race 39:40 [5] *** 6.4 km (6:12 / km) +190m 5:24 / km
spiked:17/24c shoes: inov8 ORoc 340

British Middle Champs on Stanton Moor, thought that I could do quite well in this race. Unfortunately I decided to bomb it off at the start, and find my way through a nice techy bit as fast as possible. Didnt work very well...
! was crap, 2 was crap, 3 was crap, then I went on a role for 4 and 5, but then 6 was crap. So after a start like that I wasn't in the best of moods and the orienteering was just crap. Elkington caught me on the way to 8 and messed that up too, Elkington was behind me going to 9 and then I lost him going into 10 and managed to gain some distance on him after that because I didnt see him again. Lost a bit of time on 13 just in the circle. Was just off at 16, but it was these small mistakes now that were just adding to my annoyance. After that got them all clean but the last bit was pretty easy.
So overall this race sucked, I suppose one positive I can take from the race is that I didn't lose my eyebrow...
Lost about 8 minutes maybe 8 and a half. Banterful

Orienteering race 15:13 [4] *** 3.51 km (4:20 / km)
spiked:21/23c shoes: New Balance 790 V2

British Sprint Champs at Loughborough, was in a pretty tough heat so wasn't expecting to qualify so I didn't go all out in this one. Think I had a pretty clean run, think that my sprint technique is getting much better. Just have to be able to keep a good speed and flow going. Think i maybe lost 25 or 30s over the course due to small blips. Enjoyed the course though and had a positive attitude going into the final, even if it was the B final :P

Orienteering race 14:31 [5] *** 3.09 km (4:42 / km)
spiked:19/24c shoes: New Balance 790 V2

British Sprint Champs B Final, was feeling pretty good after having a clean but slow qualifier. However, got a bit confused at the start ended up running to the control but then had to go back the same way due to the uncrossable fence. 2nd control I dont think I took the best route, having to go through a rough bit of trees but I wouldnt have known about that from the map. I got a bit of confuse at 8 when I arrived at the control circle and the control wasn't there... If I had a looked at my descriptions I would have found that the control was on the other side of the wall, so that cost me 20s or so, could have been worse I suppose. Got a bit confused at 12 with the multi level stuff that was going on, but didn't really cost me much. 16 I took a poor route choice to. The rest of the course was okay, but just felt very scrappy. I think that my sprint orienteering is getting better but I just have to iron out the small blips and get a better flow going.
Ended up 11th.
