Orienteering race 1:24:35 *** 11.0 km (7:41 / km) +277m 6:50 / km

Ngaralta Country
9:36 AM. Rocky Gully. Burned 954 calories.
Course: Long 10.0 km 320 m
Felt pretty slow to start out but found a rythm and it seemed to keep up for the majority. No real problems with route choice, but a couple of wobbles inside the circles cost me time. I had a great deal of fun splashing over the creek and running down hills. After then event i went and got a plane and flew over the area. It was interesting to see and 10km isn't really that much on the ground. It just takes forever to do it by foot. I did several laps of the map in about 5min where it took me 85min by foot....

Cycling 1:10:00 [3] 18.0 km (15.4 kph) +300m
shoes: Merida MATS 500

Commuting Home
4:45 PM. Norwood. Burned 493 calories.

Since i had to give up the Lancer today, i popped my bike into the back so i could get home. I put my real bike in not my electric bike since so many people gave me crap about my electric bike not being "real" (plus it wouldn't fit in the Lancer). I met Fern at work to ride home with her and i was alittle scared of the traffic. I was much more relaxed when we got off of King William Road and in back streets or nice wide bus lanes. The climb up Shepherd's Hill was ok other than what Fern might say about it. I had a few issues choosing the right gears or at least finding the right time to change gears. We got home safely and it was fun!

Magpie Gully
6:34 PM. Eden Hills. Burned 605 calories.

Ran with Fern. We seemed to be going at a solid pace the whole time, and my legs seemed to know that they were being pushed. I like running in Magpie Gully.

Quick run with Fern before Grandma's 89th birthday. I hope i am still as happy and with it as she is at her age. Guess i should start drinking a couple of Ginger Wines a night.

Running warm up/down (Kadina) 22:00 [1] 3.92 km (5:37 / km)
shoes: Brooks Trance

Warming up and down before and after my first Farlek session in a while. I really don't have any speed in my legs, they are for cruising.

Running intervals 13:41 2.62 km (5:13 / km) +5m 5:11 / km
ahr:164 max:177

Fartleking around Kadina
6:18 PM. Kadina. Burned 235.0698 calories.

10x30" sprints with 60" recovery. Each sprint worked out to aboout 120m and the recovery a bit longer. Perhaps the recovery was too long for this to be effective, but i was certainly puffed out still when i came to start the next sprint. I followed the outskirts of the town while doing this and probably only saw 1 or 2 cars. Kadina ain't a crazy busy town.
