WMOC Sprint Qualification, Horsholm. M50-3, 3.2km. 3rd.

Plenty of walking and jogging to get my calf warmed up, and then nothing too fast out on the course. Technically harder than I expected, but not that tricky. A couple of minor hesitations, plus one wrong route choice it seems.

Happy with 3rd which gives me a fairly late start on the A final.

WMOC Sprint Model, Farum Arena.

Having not run all week, it was good to stretch the legs with a jog round the model course. Calf still tight, but all I can do is lots of warming up and cross my fingers it gets no worse.

Halifax Urban. Men's Vet. 6.5km, 170m. 3rd.

My calf was still stiff, despite lots of rolling/massaging of it over the last couple of days. I did a decent warm up, but as soon as I started I could tell it was tight still, though not hurting. Decided to carry on but stop if it got painful, which it never did.

A good urban race, with some interesting technical challenges in the city centre, and around some of the areas with steps. Kept me thinking hard the whole way, but I think my routes were mostly good. Some big hills, too!

Not surprised to be a couple of minutes off the winning time, having taken easy on my calf.
