Bristol City Race (UKUL). Men's Vets. 3rd.

Another great course, but none of the complex levels stuff that we had amongst the flyovers yesterday. A good mix of long legs and groups of controls in complex areas.

A few mistakes, but I was also tiring later in the course.
#8 I ran down the wrong road having left the park, and had to reverse. 30 secs.
#21-24 losing 5-10 secs per leg, just being careful in the tricky housing while tired
#31 didn't see the best route, back on the east of the dock. 15 secs.

I was leading the race at #13 but Richard B and Jon H who beat me were simply running faster at the end. Megan CD ran 39 on the same course - impressive.

Bristol City Race. Men's Supervet. 12th.

Fine until control #14, but then it got really tricky in an area of several flyovers and river bridges, and I completely failed to correctly interpret the map. Lost a lot of time on several legs.

Paul Murgatroyd won in 50, and I caught him by a minute by #10 and ran to #14 with him. If only I'd have run with him through #15 to #20, I could have won. Doh!

Congrats to the planner (who was also the mapper) for coming up with such challenging courses. Apparently the optimum route was 9.1km, and I ran 10.5km, far too far.

Must do better tomorrow, in another bit of Bristol.
