Therapy session. Mental and physical blahs today. Skiing clearly finished for the season and did not feel like running.

Blustery walk to buy new pair of training shoes (Brooks Ravenna 5) and try on the Cadence 3 and compare to Saucony Mirage- prefer the Cadence.

Short on time - had to get to a celebration event. Progression warm up, starting slow and ramping up.

Before and after tempo

Running tempo (Treadmill) 25:17 intensity: (5:00 @2) + (15:00 @3) + (5:17 @4) 4.6 km (5:30 / km) +140m 4:46 / km

Didn't know how this was going to go. Hills routine with 5 min at 1, 2, 4, 6 % then 5,4,3,2,1. Adjusted speed down gradually as ramp increased. Got through it OK though ie lungs behaved.

Have a VO2 max scheduled for mid week. Not sure of wisdom given recent chest infection- V/Q will be off (so may not get to RQ =1) plus possible infectious risk.

Lungs are crap, so just a short outing. Hard work with soft trail conditions.
