Walking 27:00 [1] 2.4 km (11:15 / km)

Beautiful day again- easing the legs at start of day.

Orienteering 1:31:48 intensity: (1:00:00 @2) + (31:48 @3) 8.5 km (10:48 / km) +50m 10:29 / km

ScoreO at Lake Elmo. Legs were tired from yesterday so decided to take it slow and go for accuracy. Headed for the NE loop first and to get the 25 pointers. Hitting a control every 4-5 mins. Going was tough, at one stage thought snow shoes would have done better as kept breaking through the crust on the prairie. Even the winter walking trail was hard work. One error in the woods looking for a depression - got off to the right and maybe lost 1-2 mins dropped. At 70 mins faced a choice of heading back in short route for 70 points vs over the lake for 80. Hoped for faster running back across the lake would be good - but nope was a struggle into wind- missed the cut by 1:48 and so 10 point penalty (16/25 c 220/340pts).

Note

Window of opportunity for O in next 6 w so entered KS and FP events. Really don't know about late spring at this stage and may have to pass on East Coast events.
