Bittersweet day. Bon voyage to our youngest - Rachel- who just got a paying job in the fashion industry in NYC and so off to the Big Apple.

Wet and mizzly, and all trussed up. Quite a difference to FL.

Moderate pace wo with masters meet on we didn't want to overdo it ; 2x800@6:40, 2x400@6:20, 2x200@6:00 and 1 extra 200 to make 3k with 200m jogging rest between work periods.

Along the road to the gym. Breezy today.

Short run and out before breakfast, not much time but pleasant out 65F as sun came up.

Jogging (Beach) 33:59 [3] 6.5 km (5:14 / km)

Late afternoon and very balmy 75. Softish sand but ok at waters edge and no strains.

PW to get pulse up.
Off to FL for a few days - work yes, spring training maybe- as in beach running.

Note

Skiable snow locally at last, but signed up for the Greater Boston TC Invitational (400/800). Oh dilemma!

Track won out- team obligation for Millrose Games!
1 mile before, drills and 8x50m strides, 2k after

Track race (GBTC Invitational Harvard) 1:01 [4] 0.4 km (2:32 / km)

400m masters heat. Lane 4. Not a great start and consequently neg splits 31/30, coming home too strong. Consistent time in low 61 and not bad for a slower track -plus approx 1.5 second improvement since begin Dec, same track same lane!. Feels like I got a good 800 coming.
3rd in heat in 1:01.44

Note

Bailed on 800m, scheduled at 5pm and running late plus had talk to right.
So next weekend focus at east Region masters champs will be 800.

And a bit extra on snowy trails when I got home. Moving nice and easy.
