Feeling just plain crappy - up half the night coughing. Consequently stayed at home (rhetorical Q: if a CMO doesn't control infectious disease spread- who does?) and no workout today.
Oh the good news is walking normally without a calf sock- not quite ready to run/jog yet.
Sore throat and cough this morning- time to throttle back.
Got prelim indoor track schedule- can I be healed/healthy again by December for some decent 800s - that is the question?
Stretching warm up/down 30:00 [1]
Dynamic and roller stretching included 10 mins warm up on bike - massage only to right calf. No pain - however am taking this slowly.
Thanks to Alex's prompt here are some deliberations on cause and effect.
Common factors/triggers for right sided recurrent calf injury (same spot as in March):
1. Preceding mental/physical fatigue (last week was work-related)
2. Speed with change in direction (once on track, once while Oing)
3. Possible biomechanical imbalance
Action: need orthopedic/podiatric assessment of leg/foot/gait
NB retirement and giving up on speed are currently not attractive options :-)
Spin (sanity spin) 30:00 [3] 9.25 mi (3:15 / mi)
easy-mod without straining calf- felt OK
7 AM
Walking10:00 [1] 0.8 km (12:30 / km)
Possibly a little less gimping- at least focusing on normalizing gait.
