Orienteering race 1:13:05 [5] *** 9.0 km (8:07 / km)
spiked:17/27c shoes: x talon 212

Left leg still felt a pretty broken from those squats(won't be doing those again in a hurry), was saw to even tough, but was suprisingly ok when I was running.
OY 1 at Pulpit Rock: 1 and 2 fine. Bit slow through 3 and 4. Bad route to 5, didn't see the lower track, which was a bit silly, 30 sec there going around the top of the cliff through some gorse. next few all good. Crap direction out of 8, leading to a slow route to 9 losing a little time, then went right to where 9 was but never saw it so milled around for a bit confirming I was in the right spot, and then eventually saw it, annoying, lost 90 sec there. Lost a tiny bit on 12 being a muppet, and not trusting myself. Gave the lungs a good workout upto 13 and 14. Diddn't read the map very well or in enough detail at 16 and was looking in the wrong spot for a bit, lost atleast 30 sec there. Was a bit hesistant and stopped too early on 18 losing 20-30 sec. Slightly off on 21, needed to just trust my compass a bit more. Slow to get out of 23, then got confused by the size of the hill on the farmland for a bit (30 sec, then at the control ran just above it and didn't see it, wasting another 30 sec. crappy route to 24. Good to 25 except last 50 metres or so when I went straight through some green as opposed to through the nice open stuff. all good to finish.
So quite a few small mistakes, probs atleast 5 mins all up (although 2 mins was kind of just not spotting controls). On the positive side though leg was suprisingly fine, and the results would imply i was allot more competitive than what I thought I was when I was out there. Felt alright physically I suppose a little tired on some of the steep bits, but its hard to tell as your'e never going to feel that flash up some of those hills.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]
