Park Run (Lakeview) 40:27 [4] 5.0 km (8:05 / km)
shoes: black+blue

A little lethargic after breakfast so it's a good thing I have the commitment gene in spades.Absolutely beautiful day - so clean and crisp colours, with just a hint of warmth.
S-1 9:00 This was a surprise and I even saw the 8:59 tick over as I reached for the button - it will come soon. Knew this was way ahead and I hoped it would spur me on and today would be the day to get back into the 30's
1-2 7:27 (16:27)Still going really well and may have overcooked it here but felt really fast.
2-T 3:43 (20:10)Back on "schedule" but had quite a few seconds banked. First signs of overcooking, but none of the HR problems, though I knew I was getting up there.
T-3 4:19 (24:30) Way over budget - starting to feel the effects of pushing too hard in 1-2
3-4 8:34 (33:05) Knew this was slowing, but hoped for a little improvement in last km. Thoughts of sub 40 gone.
4-5 7:22 (40:27) Just a smidge.

gym class (Body Sculpt) 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: white puma

This was a very confusing class. I had it on good authority that the instructor was excellent - yes she was. I was told that the class is slow, no cardio but you get a good workout. All proved true. BUT it is a really unusual class from my "vast" experience and I probably won't return. It could replace a Body Pump class should i miss one of those but doing 2 of them per week is enough. Also I think should one do this class 2-4 times per week benefits may be seen, but certainly not once per week.
The format is 14 exercises each for 30 seconds, repeat set, repeat set, repeat set, until time expires. While it didn't feel boring there was a lot of change from bench to upright to floor and change of weights etc so at times a little of the allocated time was lost.

gym replacement activity 10:00 [3]

Severely hard going - parts were knee high and very lush. Thanks for that Mother Nature!

Fill in instructor and boy did she work us hard. haven't been that challenged in a Pump class ever. Still not a 100% fan of the new style of class but within that great workout. Right from the start I was feeling hamstrings after yesterday's Challenge class so good to stretch them again today.
All the soggy travellers in class today.

gym class (PF Challenge) 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: white puma

Sally made a welcome return today. She was Up and Down. Chose the shoulders option for her second visit, rather than thumping the legs unnecessarily.

Street Series (Gateshead #16) 46:50 [4] 5.3 km (8:50 / km)
shoes: black+blue

New map - woo hoo. Good spread of controls from Rob V which would have challenged the runners. Bit hilly in parts and I was a little surprised/disappointed at the turn out - weather wasn't a problem and distance shouldn't have been. Heard Rob suggesting to someone that maybe they could come at some other time and pick up all the other controls they didn't visit. Also quite surprised at my distance even allowing for my small time indiscretion. Quite a hidden gem in an area that gets a pretty bad wrap.

gym class (PF Challenge) 1:00:00 [4]

Felt less and less inclined as I get closer to the gym. Good session of intervals but will in future focus more on pushing to the limit, as still some gas left in the tank at the end.
