Park Run (Callaghan) 39:59 [3] 5.0 km (8:00 / km)
shoes: grey/white

Running late so no time for warm up (or loo) so it was going to be a trial which i hoped I'd complete. Lots of people there as Blackbutt flashmob were visiting.

Start-steps Rainforest walk -11:58 don't think a walking time would have been much different. This was the substitute warmup, but was pleased I made it further than usual so I THOUGHT my mind might be amenable to fooling later on.... it wasn't. Periods of no go and partial dizziness, even on flat.

Steps - cone 8:10 (20:09) Hoped for breathing improvement didn't eventuate

Cone - steps Rainforest Walk 7:04 (27:13) Focussed on ground most of the way, and this was a reasonably respectable time by recent runs. Felt OK.

Steps - Finish - 12:46 (39:59) Not as disastrous as I'd thought.

Some really unhappy parts to this, but checking back it is over 10 weeks since i was last here and over that time gym has been very inconsistent so this is the result. Now to knuckle down as I have a target.
Lovely chat afterwards with Robyn, Pete, Elaine, Catherine + someone who is running a half at Uluru on a package + ....rockman!!!
Magic's tales from the UTA are one of despair - how strong is he!!!

gym class (Body Sculpt) 55:00 [4]

New instructor's second class - and the knives were out.
My assessment : it is hard work and on task and very varied but also very boring, no flair and no fun. Didn't really discern a warm up so class seemed to go extra long. had lots of alternatives within exercises but many involved the same elements eg burpees and jumping which I'm not sure how they fit into Body Sculpt model.

Fairly uninteresting session. I'm tired and a bit going on at home - literally - and I really wanted gym to distract me. Instead of writing my "to do" list before I went to the gym I composed it and reordered it several times throughout the class, rendering me distracted. Poor form on my behalf - have lost a lot of mental strength (or maybe it's depleted over the past few years.) Good news is that I found the class just a little challenging physically.

Note

First foray to Upper Hunter laying groundwork for the establishment of new club. Met with council staff who were very supportive and helpful; scouted a few locations rockman had earmarked and had a nice day working together. Not quite like it was in 2012/2013 but still very enjoyable. It was also a lot closer to home.

Time 9am - 5pm.
Meetings at Singleton and Muswellbrook Councils, visited those + Denman.
