Park Series (Dudley PS - Final) 34:50 [4] 3.22 km (10:49 / km)
shoes: bright pink

Quite excited about this race - and I don't usually call O runs as 'races'. Fantastic school area with some quite tricky parts within buildings. Poor Course Planner had some last minute problems with areas being OOB due to asbestos discovery and recovery, but for the Long course it only affected the second last control whereas it was the Short course's first. Obviously thrown in at the deep end and working out ups and downs and overs was a challenge - but a really good training for those needing it wrt map reading.
The fields bits were slogs but my mishaps were related to forgetting the scale when emerging from the buildings and onto the fields - overran the first such by miles and then spent a good minute being stupid (according to Splits). Lots of fun with people everywhere - great Assembly area and so accessible. Really felt like we were in a country school and town, albeit with a beach taste in our mouths.
So ends, sadly and far too soon, the Park Series, save for Night champs (or the growing alternative of the Twilight champs for the pikers) next Wednesday.
Lovely chats afterwards with the opportunity to have catch ups with people who don't usually stay for long. And talked to KC, but mostly about parkrun as opposed to Park Series. Lovely to see her again after so long. She is getting very fast at parkrun so this might be an opportunity to actually 'see' her - she's way ahead of me now.
