Trekking 5:59:05 [3] 11.7 mi (30:42 / mi) +202ft 30:12 / mi

A hike down the switchbacks at the head of Lyell Canyon down to the meadow. We stopped and chatted with some trekkers on the way down. One team of two were in the middle of hiking the entire Pacific Crest Trail. Lean and mean. We had planned on a 5 day experience, with the last day being in the canyon with a short trek out, but decided at lunch to push it and get out in time to secure a burger at the Tuolomne store. Epic 4 days. Very different view of Yosemite vs. the valley.

Trekking 6:16:04 [3] 8.31 mi (45:16 / mi) +1963ft 36:59 / mi

Trek from 1000 Island lake, over Island pass, up to Donahue Pass and an awesome campsite below Lyell Glacier. Our last day of climbing. The terrain has really changed over these three days. It started very much Coloradoish, at the end of today is definitely full blown granite. The hike out will be a bit of both, with an end of Minnesota meadow.
