Warm up 2:10:00 [2] 10.0 km (13:00 / km)
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

XC dryland training with the Loppet Ski Club. Tuesday will be judgement day for this group. I may be stupid... or they are disorganized. I missed the first day of training. I showed up at the designated area on Saturday AM and noone was there. I went to Wirth Beach, where there was a large group, and settled in with them. Turns out it was the rereational crowd, not the intermediate/advanced. So I hung with them as they went through their dryland training. Not the best aerobic workout, but some things to think about.

A tough AM. Dips and chinups, 2 sets with negative reps, followed immediately by lumbar extensions (Lower back exercise with 70 lbs of dumbbells) followed by walking lunges with the same weights. My weak link is my ability to grip the dumbbells by the end of this session. I had a hard time shaving.

Good times.

Quick spin around the LOI with Molly and Tom prior to the MNOC board meeting. Great night for a run. Nice cool temp with no real breeze.

Nice OTNT set by Jim. Warm up run from the finish to the remote start. Technically, this was a score-o, but the linearity of the area made for only a couple route choices. We were given maps with a start control (divide the field control) and then had the leeway to run any order we desired. I run this area all the time. It was fun to see some new terrain (the other side of the fence) and I think that my familiarity hurt me on a few controls. The map was great for OTNT, but not quite ready for a full O meet. I thought I knew the locations he intended... but I was wrong...

This would be a great place to run a sprint next year. Especially if we can start/finish at the band shell. Perfect way to get some exposure for the club.
