Three loops at Murphy Hanrahan with Alan Eastlund. No rest at this track, heart racing speedy downhills followed by cardiac arrest up hills. If you don't feel comfortable with your climbing technique, my perspective is you need to take it easy out here, quit while you are ahead. The first lap was chaotic with downhills that turn and jog and required a cautious approach. Fell twice... The second lap felt great, fell once (hard face plant) but climbed "OK". Third lap would have been better spent skipping the bigger hills and just continuing on the smaller inner loop. I was getting tanked and just felt off of form, which made things worse. In all I fell 4 times, only once hard, the last was a bail out as I was tired and started staring at the trees which sent me straight at them.
I was putting my skis away when done and saw that one of the tails had a crushed spot.... I broke a ski in this area before. I started seeing $$$ leaving my wallet. I ran up to Gear West. They bent and twisted the ski, with nothing ominous coming from it. One tech said just to ski it, but Matt L. said just to be safe they should do an epoxy repair. I get the ski back on Tuesday night.
