First look at the Birkie Trail. Headed up Friday night for a Saturday/Sunday 2fer. The weather didn't play fair. Went out at 1 due to the cold and had to leave on Sunday before the thermometer went positive. And the legs were still a little wobbly.
Still got a good ski in on Saturday. The Birkie tour was held earlier, so the trail was pretty skied in. Lots of good hills as we skied North from OO, then turned around just past the highpoint (had to get in a good hill) and skied back to my friends cabin just off of Mosquito brook. Skied the first 24 with some slower friends, so a little bit of stop and go. OO to home all stops were due to fitness/frustration.
Forgot to start the Garmin in time. Batteries ran out before the finish.
The skiing was great except they were running snow mobiles up and down the trail looking for Tour stragglers. Really created some rutts that made the downhills dicey.
Another frustrating tie.... 3-3 I had two assists and 1 good shot. I took a ball point blank to the side of my chin. Those of you thinking of weight loss, not sure if it is the most pleasant way to drop pounds. We will see if it is effective. I felt like Steve Buscemi in Fargo right after he got shot.
