Note

Very unsuccessful easy week. Did a hape of climb, and the legs are in a right mess.
Try and get 3 solid weeks in now anyway.

Very easy hills with haynesy.
Dropped by the orienteering in hellfire, but didn’t run it. Said hello is all.
Not flying by any means, but very enjoyable. They have destroyed hellfire so they have, coillte. Pure shame.
Legs quare fecked from yesterday.

Powerscourt Ridge - brutal as always.
Hoped to go quicker, more like 80-83, but I’m carrying weight, and clearly not as strong as I hoped. Man can descend, but man can’t ascend.

Other notes:
Held back a bit early on. Still though, that maulin ride was unsurprisingly savage. Passed by 2 here, no prizes for guessing; Mahon & Fortune.
The flat path above it was fully overgrown with heather, a good bit worse than the other 2 years I ran it. A little stuck behind another guy here, but nothing too serious.
Hard Maulin descent gained back places. Lost them all on a long struggle up Djouce. Pretty hard off Djouce, saw fortune 2/3rds up from the dargle. Chased hard.
Hit bottom of the ride level with previous best & Fortune out of touching distance. Ramped it up, and kicked hard with 500 to go. Got Fortune & 30sec pb.
Wanted more. Brutal.

Bushy - 4-lap xc tempo.
Relatively solid. Feeling pretty strong, and as with tymon, lacking a bit of speed to get going faster. Was happy to keep the laps consistent and push on at the end though, so maybe I could be going harder earlier on.
Nice session anyway. Could have kept going for a good while, which is probably where I am right now, that bodes well for the weekend at least.

Not really needed, but seems like decent timing to have an easier week. Maybe build up more after, who knows.
shin has a mild tingle on last 2 runs, maybe worth noting, but barely noticeable.

On the way back from the airport, but had to squeeze it in. Not impressive times, but felt strong enough, not bad going. Probably not my freshest either.
Great thing about being a full-time athlete is I’ve really got to appreciate autumn a lot more this year. Beautiful out in Masseys.

Out with Euzie & Sam, setting his new 5k pb, so steady 20mins in the middle.
Another successful 2 o’clock - 5 o’clock double complete.
