Easy Sunday run.
Tried to get Clo ou, but she had too much work, and tried with Niamh too, but she's scared of the hills.
So, ended up just me and Coco ripping up the hills.
Chilled from Pine Forest to Fairy Castle and back. Little slow on the way back waiting up for Coco.

Colours Road Relays
Supposed to be a 2mile leg, but turned out it was about 1.5km loops, so more like 3km then. Laurence got 3.05km anyway.
Didn't use a watch, so time is a guess until I get an e-mail with results.
One of the lads said he reckoned I was about 9:50 - 9:55, but we'll see soon enough.

Somehow ended up on UCD's first team, and our team ended up cruising to victory.
Went out in 2nd behind another UCD fellow, wasn't gaining too much, but when we got back to halfway, I left him a bit then, and the Trinity lad Cully caught me. I knew he was better than me, but O'Reilly on leg 3 would be better than their lad.
So, I worked hard, and basically hung onto Cully for the 2nd lap, was a battle. Hung in, and Cian cruised through giving a big lead, which we kept.
Nice one.

UCDAC
5mins, 3:30mins, 3mins, 2mins, 1min, 0:30mins. 3min rests for the first 3, then 2min rest, then 1min rest.
Nice session, originally considered doing 2 sets, but then I realised how long it was, and I was a little empty anyway, so I relaxed.

90mins on Ticknock
Good group with myself, CillinC, lorrieq, roar, jonnyq and the two triathletes Conor O'Keeffe & Ciaran.
Not the best conditions, but since 90mins is short enough it didn't matter too much really. We took a slightly more sheltered route which helped.
Legs felt stronger this week. Good news.

UCDAC - 9*1min hills

Nice session. Cian went on to do more, which I could probably have done, but I had that last one set as my last one in my head.
Found it a little tough, but moving well. Legs feel fresh after the weekend.
Post shower I feel more fresh than before the session, like I've haven't run today. Up for another session.
Soon it will be time to re-introduce the double sessions.

Note

Looks like I lost ~40s to optimum controls today. 20s on an out of sync start, as well as 20s on an out of sync finish.
Conor lost the same on the finish, so I would still have been in the same position, but somewhat farcical.

Waterford City Race
Was pretty easy really. The course didn't make the most of the map at all, and the printing quality was shocking altogehter, but somehow it still managed to be a very enjoyable run.
Had some silly misses - 10s on 11, turned too early which was very stupid. 5-10s on 17, just wasn't paying enough attention and had a horrible line through the park. Had planned well through the first half, but got lazy after having not actually needing to do any of that planning, and 21 I just had to make a quick call and went left. Looking back I think right was better, but we all went left so who knows.
Had another 10s or so on 25, just didn't see the control behind the car and ran down and stoped and back up to it.
Also a bit of a loss on 1, has planned on going straight essentially and coming back to the control, but when I got to the junction, it looked like a lot of downhill, and then I would have to come back up, there weren't any contours so I couldn't really be sure (it wasn't much down really), and I made an instict call and went left around, which I think was slightly worse.
Not sure what happened on that control though, because I was 23s worse on the leg, and I thought I started quickly. Originally thought that maybe the start boxes were out of sync, but now I don't know really. Tough to call, but there's no way the route error was 23s.

Felt like I was running alright out there, but I also felt barely out of breath at the finish, and the pace isn't particularly quick for a running course. Not really sure, and wasn't wearing hr monitor so can't really judge, but possibly need to be pushing harder.
