Orienteering 1:25:32 [2] 12.33 km (6:56 / km) +250m 6:18 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 - 2013

Nav Challenge. Waddup.
Was late 'cos I spilt some garlic sauce on my car and had to hitch a ride. So Cillín and I just went out for a run, got 1 and 2, and then chilled back along the road. Crazy day.
Mad weather too. Rained like we hadn't seen rain in a month, except we have. And then windy like driving a motorbike 200km/hr at a tornado - except maybe not quite so extreme. We were just doing 1 and 2 so my thermal was plenty of clothing (kind of), even if they were just long legs.
Nice run to flush out the adrenaline. woot.

(rest day)

Well, I guess I can let my achilles be a cool dude. But this wasn't planned.

Running 30:46 [3] 3.52 km (8:44 / km) +300m 6:08 / km
shoes: Aasics Gel-Fuji Racer (Blue)

Hellfire Hellreps.
Usual 3 & 3 with CillinC. Legs were a bit niggly in places so I decided to chill the long ones. Cillín was happy to do this too. Legs haven't really recovered too much from the last two weeks during this week. And next week is a big week ahead so, they could do with not going too hard.
Little trouble with my left achilles too, not too bad while running, but I could feel it the whole time. Very similar to the problem I had about a month or two into Sweden as well, so I'll have to watch it a bit to make sure it doesn't escalate like then. Stretched and rolled it for about 15mins tonight though.
Anyway, nice run, felt decent on the long ones and could have done more as it was a chilled pace, but leaving the legs off as they still feel a bit used.
Times: 4:26, 4:26, 4:24/
Short ones I opened up a bit more.
Times: 0:55. 0:54, 0: 50.

Running warm up/down 6:17 [1] 0.8 km (7:51 / km)

Run with lorrieq and CillinC up on three rock.
Up fairy castle, over tibradden then back around some mtb trails and up fairy castle. Nice weather, cloudy and drizzly but warm. A nice run, we picked it up on some uphills too.

2 PM

Running 30:31 intensity: (15:31 @2) + (15:00 @3) 6.78 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Aasics Gel-Fuji Racer (Blue)

Went for a run around Ucd with Laurence. Nice out. Alright pace, didn't feel quick but not too shabby.

Note

Legs tiny bit tight after run. But played a bit over an hour of 5-a-side and my calves felt tight after that.

Running warm up/down 7:17 [1] 1.42 km (5:08 / km)
shoes: Aasics Gel-Fuji Racer (Blue)

Running intervals 28:56 [4] 7.91 km (3:39 / km)
shoes: Aasics Gel-Fuji Racer (Blue)

Usually I log my intervals as intensity 5. But in this case we're logging it as 4, because I didn't feel like I was really pushing, just opening my nice stride and working a little towards the end.
4 * 2km, 90-120s rest.
Not sure of rests, didn't help that I was ahead of the rest as well as my rests were extended.
Times: 7:14, 7:12, 7:15, 7:14
Really nice session. Came over and running with Jack and a group of the vets. Mike was in our group too. Didn't know what pace they were doing and was chatting to Jack at the start, but felt we needed to pick it up a little. As I went to go by Mike kindly informed me that this was an 8min group, so I was happy I was picking it up.
Ran from the front, and ran alone. Was surprised Jack wasn't keeping up with me, and especially to find he was a bit tired after the first two, at ~ 7:45. He's obviously not at his fittest because I never used to be able to touch the guy!
They finished on 3, as I was supposed to, but my legs felt light, so I did an extra one on my own.

Good times! Noticeably stronger than a couple of years ago, which is to be expected, but good to actually see it. Used to do 3 in about 7:30. Hadn't noticed much of it before now.
Good confidence booster and good to see myself ahead of Jack for a change. Had a real spring in my stride tonight. Even if the times don't look impressive. It's a nice loop, and I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's intervals.

Running 8:03 [1] 1.42 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Aasics Gel-Fuji Racer (Blue)

Chatting to Róisín and then Mike before I left. Both in good form before they leave for the JHIs soon!
Talking to Jack as well afterwards then. Nice and social these trainings.

4 PM

Running 1:03:04 [2] 11.91 km (5:18 / km)
shoes: Aasics Gel-Fuji Racer (Blue)

Back from college and ran up to Cillín's, short lap around Marlay, then back home via Cillín's.
Nice run, productive day back.
Legs felt a little tired, but not too tired. Just a small bit heavy, not totally fresh. So we chilled the pace. Could have been a little tired from the first day back at college, getting into and back to early starts.
Or because of the last couple of weeks training, I guess that either.
