Orienteering 2:02:47 [2] *** 15.1 km (8:08 / km) +653m 6:41 / km
shoes: Olway O' shoes

Long O' session, a bit varied. Some long ones, some shorter, and bits and pieces of route choices too. Running alright, was a bit lacking early on, but pretty okay after a bit.
Hit my shoulder of a rock at one point.. sore. But, as usual, nothing serious. So ended up skipping one control but did the rest.

Cycling: Commute 18:27 [3]

and home, on my super speed bike!

Note

Yeah, I'm doing a 10km course on Three Rock, tomorrow (Sunday), if anyone wants a run out. Similar-ish idea to the last Leinster League, but would be like that, whether there had been an event here or not so. No controls, but definite features. Running dist. probably like 13/14km. I have already planned a 2.5km course thing for Clodagh, if she wants to do one. So, if anyone else want something shorter, for whatever reason, I can do so very easily.. Any Takers?

Running 55:04 [2] 10.71 km (5:08 / km) +153m 4:48 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons

Nice run. Bit stiffish in places.

(rest day)

One of those things where you don't do training. Ah yes, a rest day.

Note

Okay, so there's a routegadget. It didn't work on my computer, but if it works on yours, chuck in your route. And if it did work, someone might let Kyle know to do his? I'll try sort mine out :)

Note

Also if anybody wants to do some sort of orienteering thing on three rock on sunday, I'll probably plan something for myself anyway.

Hill Reps x8
Don't want to do to much at the moment. So left it at 8.
But good run out. Quite short because of this.

Running 58:31 [1] 10.98 km (5:20 / km) +110m 5:05 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons

Went out at a proper comfort pace cos' the legs are still stiff and tight, so ensured not to work them at all.
Opposite of Monday's with a bit of chopping and changing to get a nice run and right sort of distance.

Note

Didn't do the S+C last night due to the fall, won't do it tonight either. Muscles are tight in lots of places, and my knee is a bit stiff and throbbing now too.
Really happy with how there going though, I'm pretty sure I'm, noticing improvements.
6 PM

Running warm up/down 27:33 [1] 5.15 km (5:21 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons

Jog Over: Typically, I turned pretty much the first corner staring at a car, thinking I knew someone. And, while turning slipped on a wet piece of footpath, and cut open me knee. Stupid melted ice! I preferred it when you were there and I could trust my O' shoes! Anyway, it didn't really hurt, even though it had a lot of blood and yesterday's had none! Continued onwards... to Mordor.

Jog Home: Offered a lift by Mike Long and Roisin, who it was good to see out running. Good to finally know some of the juniors, especially the younger ones, are training their speed, as all we Irish need it. In fact, good to see a W14 training. Very Good! But anyways after they offered and I graciously declined, I passed their car about 4 times due to the different routes and shortcuts I had available to me. I think it was to spite me for declining a free lift. But it is only 2.5km.

Running intervals 17:22 [5] 5.0 km (3:28 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons

5x1km, 2min rest.
Times: 326, 329, 325, 329, 333.
Good times, much better than usual, especially considering the leg, thought it might have an effect, but no. And also good to get in some intervals, it's probably been like a month.. a month! Anyway, the snow seems to have sped everyone up or something. Anyway, I missed the 1st, so did the last by myself. The lads did my first in like 317, I was happy to leave them at that, couldn't see them keeping that, on my third I began to drop them all.
The last was slow though, disappointingly so. I didn't really push at all, and cos' I was by myself, I thought I was going about the same speed, but no.
Anyway, good oul' session.

Running 1:00:31 [2] 11.5 km (5:16 / km) +115m 5:01 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons

Nice short one. Got out and, probably due to the lack of snow, my legs carried a certain freshness they haven't had for far too long. Skipping along, hopping across the snow and ice covered patches. Ran along a mixture of roadside grass and roadside paths.
About halfway through, I went straight over an, in my opinion, "invisible" fence. The fence was a wiry one just above knee height and as i ducked through a rather dead-looking hedge. The fence was camouflaged to the eye, and given the amount of streetlights around, I doubt daylight would've helped.
Anyway, pace dropped considerably, as I half hobbled home with both my legs and my arms in a mixture of pain and shock from the collision with the concrete road. God damn roads, you just can't beat 'em!
Went from a decent 4:50/km-ish to about a 5:40/km-ish.
Nice run though.

And nothing that'll restrain me from any training including tomorrow, I might note.
