Good course, different to the usual shenanigans. Liked the long leg to 1, completely different to the usual. And lots of nice technical bits, but some areas to intense to figure out.
Reasonable run. Nothing special, lots of kind of 30secondy mistakes.
2, lost maybe 20secs. A bit weird round here anyways. 6 lost maybe another 20secs or so. 7 was annoying to say the least. Got there, looked in no control within sight, and figured it wasn't really white in there anyway, which there appeared to be a little bit of on the map. Wandered on only to come back and find it, maybe 30-40secs. 11 was just poor map-reading, was going in the wrong direction, had to correct, and did so badly. 12 also stupid, was going wrong, realised, corrected, and then said no, you were right. Went back in, and it turns out I was wrong, I hadn't even hit the track! About 1min. 14 lost time, maybe 30secs, couldn't read this, and didn't spot the control. 16 I went badly, was way off line, but corrected well enough, 30secs. 20, I went down the wrong alley, which weirdly was marked as a track, 30secs. 22 was just bad out. I reckon this was my downfall to Laurence. Was off line, corrected and went in to wrong area, not having read description, 30secs. 27, I went around the wrong side of the gorse, navigated grand, just horrible route, 45secs-1min. Grand from here on.
But Laurence beat me for running over the last few, to beat me by 9secs. I didn't fucking push hard enough! Or just shouldn't have made so many little mistakes. But lots of positives I think. Correcting well after mistakes, so hardly any mistakes of a minute or more. Pretty good with the detail. Generally, quite good. I'm happy as it can be an awkward area.
