10 AM

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 0.2 km (50:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 MUDCLAW 272

Really should have done more warming up. But I was too conscious of the strange contraption upon my head.

Orienteering (JK Relay Tyrella) 25:08 [4] *** 4.29 km (5:52 / km) +190m 4:48 / km
spiked:12/13c shoes: Inov-8 MUDCLAW 272

1st leg.

Was wearing the head camera out of interest (watching what I did later), it didn't affect me much. It was a bit like a less annoying head torch.

Anyway I did about 20s of mistakes on 5 and 6 which isnt bad. I also made a RC mistake on 1, 5 and 8 which is not so good but a maximum of 1min 30s all together and minimum of 30s.

Running 40:00 [2] *** 3.0 km (13:20 / km) +60m 12:07 / km
spiked:2/2c shoes: Inov-8 MUDCLAW 272

Orienteering race (JK Day 3 Slieve Croob) 1:23:53 [4] *** 10.39 km (8:04 / km) +570m 6:20 / km
spiked:22/26c

Probably not really intensity 4, more like 2, but it was soo tiering..

I was knackered by the 3rd ctrl, by the 5th i was caught up (3min) by a Swede called Simon. Same as most people he was running up all the hills and making stupid mistakes to let me catch up from walking the hills (slowly). Eventually he pulled away and I caught Mark S (3min) who seemed to be employing the same tactic as the Swede. I overtook them both when they made one almighty mistake and ended up sprinting down the 160m hill at the end.

1min of mistakes by me in total

11 AM

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1] 2.5 km (8:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance 759

Orienteering race (JK Day 2 Tyrella) 52:23 [5] *** 6.91 km (7:35 / km) +430m 5:47 / km
spiked:17/27c shoes: Inov-8 MUDCLAW 272

I couldn't have run any faster but i completely let myself down in my orienteering again. The area looked easy but it was average so my mistakes still weren't justified

(RC=Route choice)
3- 25s (looked left instead of right)
4- RC 20s
5- RC 35s
7- 30s (wrong RC through brambles- sunk and got stuck)
10- RC 10s
14- 25s (wrong hill- parallel)
16- RC 55s
17- 1min 10s (... lost concentration)
22- 30s (Parallel error)
23- 10s
Total 5min ish

Great course and area though had a lot of fun trying to keep up with Jack W.
...(430m of climb the map doesn't lie!)

Event: JK 2011

5 PM

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1] 1.5 km (13:20 / km)
shoes: New Balance 759

Got to the event at 10 because im elite so lots of time so that the 20minute journey wont affect my run.

The usual warm up but all of it

Sprint/Urban Orienteering race (JK Sprint) 17:36 [3] *** 3.78 km (4:39 / km) +67m 4:17 / km
spiked:15/29c shoes: New Balance 759

Couldn't get up to speed and made loads of costly 5-10s mistakes. Was doing quite well despite that by 10. But after the spectator I failed when i got into the wood area.
Fitness was good, no niggles.... /illnesses/pain/injuries/fatigue...

1min 41s mistakes..
