Note

Flipped yesterday and with milder, sunnier weather, opted to bike long and ski short, but kept the part about resting the calf.

It was windy, but didn't appear to be Out of Category. Of course, when you're inside, you can imagine whatever wind conditions you care to, as long as you ignore things like doubled over trees, dogs and pedestrians being hurled backwards, and other such telling indicators.

In fact, while it was windy when I forayed out in the early afternoon, it was just normal stuff. However, the longer I rode, the windier it got. By the end, it was pretty windy. And as evidence of that, while I was riding on Hwy 287 a semi truck was blown over by the wind a little south of where I was. Apparently the truck wasn't equipped with the necessary features necessary for Wyoming travel, so that you can "lean" the entire truck body and trailer into the wind.

Good times!

About 2" melted away from uncompacted snow surfaces at Happy Jack during the day.

Note

Winds were "Out of Category" today, so concentrated on skiing and concentrated on not biking, succeeding at both efforts. Tried some easy jogging after skiing, but it seems my calf would like a little more time, please.

Note

Enjoyed a nice ride up the "effortless" (ha!) Rogers Canyon where, for a change, there were no shooters shooting away on BLM land. Though there was plenty of trash and casings in evidence. Those folks sure do know how to take care of the land! Decent wind out of the SW made the good conditions better.

Skied later on. Still mucho snow up top and no signs of any big meltdown yet. It was easy to count the skiers because I only saw one other person out.
