Note

5 o-clock day--one of the best days of winter.

As I was on my way in and about to finish up skiing and switch to running, I ran into none other than skier X8A7. So I headed back out again and skied with Graham and caught up with him a bit. Nice to see him, and you could tell he was super eager to charge back into the classroom when school resumes next week. He is such a professor! You could also tell he is about two zillion times faster than me on the steepest downhills with twisty sections. And that's without him even trying.

The snow was fast today (as it has been all week) and it was extra fun to run into Graham out there.

And then I did run after dark, and being the last to depart the area, I swept the parking lot of any ghosts.

Note

Spotted a suspicious looking Subaru w/ Colorado plates in the Tie City parking lot, but never saw a suspicious looking skier X8A7, never mind the scurrilous, unshaven XLR8. Did see and said hello to Bern, skied with Gwynn, and avoided being eaten by the ferocious Sport--a border collie who is actually far too friendly to eat much more than Gravy Train. Sport would not make much of a guard dog, but man can he play Ultimate Frisbee.

Despite all the above, the day was a massive success: I paid estimated taxes on time, I biked, I skied, I ran, saw the lowest gas price yet ($1.65/gallon), and did not mis-punch even one control. The snow at Happy Jack was super fine.

If tomorrow is even half as good, it will be a massive success, too. Yee-haw!

Note

Took a quick spin on my bike during the early afternoon. Except for a few icy patches here and there on the roads, it was quite nice for the 12th of January!

Followed up with skiing followed by running, so scored the first trifecta for 2015.
