Note

After 7 O' runs over the past 9 days at an intensity considerably higher than anything I've done in a long, long time, it is now time to rest a bit and let the legs soak it all in. Plus, it's really not fair to all the grasses to continue to thresh their ripening grains in such a manner. I do believe if I had saved all the grass seeds that wound up in my O' shoes I could have filled up several of those large burlap feed bags you see out in places where people still live out on the land.

11 days until Daze Eve!

Reflecting back on the just concluded WOC, I thought the best part by far was the coverage by SVT--it was just terrific (thank you, Sweden!), and watching the racing and listening to the commentary made me realize how much I have missed racing. It's been about 1 3/4's years since I last raced, and now I'm really, really looking forward to racing at Round Mountain soon!

16 days to go until Laramie Daze Eve!

Note

Final test running of Daze 2 course, with Dave Pruden. This feels like quite a good course to me, and one which is physically demanding as well. I was really surprised at how well I handled the hills--I was able to run up everything, even if on the steepest sections it was more "små joggar". And after every climb I was able to recover and get back into a full run quickly. An enormous contrast to last summer, when the best I could manage on any of these hills was a walk, and not a fast walk at that.
