Scorchin out, about as warm as it gets in these parts. Mercy! Came back crisped, had to drink some cool fluids to make myself feel human(e) again. Started with Fierce Melon (always a good choice) and kept right on going through the flavor list. Yammer!

Totally classic summer day, a few clouds, not even a mention of a hint of clouds, humidity at a right tolerable 11%. I know some people love the high humidity combined with heat, and more power to them, but I'm not one of 'em.

run 1:00:00 [3]

Dreadnaught class dragonflies have started to show up in numbers at Happy Jack. The mosquitoes are terrified.

Searing. It's even above 85F! That almost never happens at 7280'.

run 1:16:00 [4]

Cruise intervals, 9 x 5.

Post workout refueling accomplished with a compote of wild choke berries, sustainably sourced air dried deerfly wings, and some choice lichen bitlets, all gleaned on the spot. Quite satisfying, and delicious, too! Wished for a warm PBR, but no such luck, being out on the frontier and all.

Orienteering 1:32:00 [3]

Remarkable Flats. Wildflowers were resplendent. Got lucky with skies becoming overcast right before I got start, therefore it quickly became quite pleasant for running, and I only sweated about three small drops of sweat. Or maybe four, but not any more than that.

Finished setting the first version of this year's Rocky Mountain Goat. I might tweak things a little more, but basically it looks okay now, and hopefully I'll have a chance to give it a full on test sometime in the next few days. I tried to set something different compared to past Rocky Mountain Goats, with an emphasis on running to, or near, or through some neat features.

Based on the contents of my shoes afterwards, it's safe to say that grass seed season has begun.

River has dropped more than a foot in the past two days, which is the quickest rate it has fallen at since the snow melt season began.

Orienteering 1:22:00 [3]

Remarkable Flats in the early evening. Very pleasant conditions.
