skiing 2:01:00 [2]

Temps enough warmer than yesterday for this to be everrrrrr so close to pleasant, despite the strong, steady winds that could be felt even deep in the forest. Lots of pine beetle debris on the trails, and even a good number of skiers, too.

run 35:00 [3]

Had planned to run up top after skiing, but I was chilled when I finished skiing and the idea of setting back out into the wind was unappealing, that late in the day. So, instead I went home and forced myself out the door. Once I got started, no problemo, and it was nice to get out for the first run of the year, even if it was short.

skiing 1:07:00 [3]

Quite chilly--right around OF--with big winds making it downright bitter. The interstate warning signs had light trailer advisories and warned of 45+ mph gusts. The snow on my skis had that much desired sandpaper feel, with de minimus glide. It's supposed to warm up some tomorrow, which will be appreciated!

skiing 2:24:00 [2]

Snowing, great trail conditions. Colder, too, at -20C, so some amount of order has been restored to the world, with Laramie at last colder than Florida again.

I came down the hill--where things weren't so bad--and found the valley was engaged in a full blown blizzard. Excellent!

Winds were up and doing fine today! Trails were nice.

Tuesday Dec 28, 2010 #

skiing 1:55:00 [3]

Windy, pleasant temps, good grooming, good snow even if getting somewhat pine needled again, and a pretty good number of other skiers out. Full sunshine!

run 47:00 [3]

Some fine running at dusk back on the snowy trails in The Flats.

The lights were turned on at the top of the hospital, indicating an incoming helicopter, and presumably some sort of med-evac. If it was an incoming patient, then at least they have a good hospital waiting for them.

run 31:00 [3]

I had been planning to go longer than this on some firmer surfaces in town, but by the time I got home it was sunset time, and the real question became if I would go out at all. The wind was blowing like a banshee and we've been spoiled lately with little to no wind. Plus, I was still cold the tail end of skiing. But I thought I would be happier if I went out and did at least something than if I did nothing, so I pulled on some warmer clothes and headed out into the last light of the day.
