Note
Yesterday I took some more materials in for recycling in my indefatigable efforts to provide stimulus to the local economy. Mostly it consisted of residual fine papers and even a few used up O' maps, probably at least $0.09 worth at wholesale prices in the scrap markets.
It's probably too soon for this new stimulus to have really taken hold, but I may go out running later today anyway, just to see what effect it has had so far. Last night I had dreams that included sounds of a construction crane, so who knows.

On the way out to the ski trails, I was both pleased and gratified to see a cement pumper at work in a new development going up behind Walmart. Once again, my modest efforts to stimulate the local economy through recycling seem to be bearing fruit! So fine.
Meanwhile, up at the trails, it was obvious that the pine beetle killed trees have been making their own efforts at stimulus, evidenced by lush layers of freshly fallen brown needles on the snow white trails. I think the way the stimulus works is skiers show up with klistered skis intending to ski classic, see the needles, realize that dawg ain't gonna woof, and have to de-klister and re-wax with something that will give some passable glide on the needles.
But maybe it works some other way. It can be hard to get into the brain of a beetle killed pine tree.
