Note

Big winds much of the day. Snow some of the day. Though the snow was not falling anywhere, rather, it was traveling at quite high velocity, in a perfectly horizontal direction to the east.

Biking was out of the question--outdoors, that is. (I did bike some in the evening indoors.) Running was not, however. I thought I was adequately dressed with a medium jacket, long pants, gloves, and knit cap, but it turned out some warmer gloves (I was wearing light XC ski gloves) would have been better. I ran trails at Happy Jack, where it was pretty wild. Much more snow was blowing around up top than down in the valley and low clouds had thing socked in. Many trees were newly blown down--mostly beetle kill, but some living trees as well that just couldn't take it anymore. Good timing for the trees to come down with respect to the ski season, one might suppose!

Definitely winter again.
