Lap of Muckross Lake

Out before breakfast so could feel that a small bit starting off. Body felt a bit stiff too from bed.

But legs alright. Weather still good.

Quiet for a lot of the run, met a couple of people in the limestone area near Muckross House but then had the place to myself until after Dinish. More people then between Dinish car park and Torc.

Had thought about some other routes for this morning but decided in the end that calf heavy routes might not be a good idea. While running I did decide to have a go at a Strava segment starting after Dinish cottage. Found the effort a bit hard on the lungs. A lot of time to be found. I do need some more sessions with higher intensity, a plan I’ve forgotten about, but this effort was a reminder.

Beaufort-Kissanes Shop-Killarney

Reverse of last week. I've no idea how I managed to do this spin faster than last Saturday, albeit a mere 6 seconds. Not sure how that happened. No HR today, battery gone I think.

Found the headwind out to Beaufort horrific, felt like I wasn't going anywhere and without the HR i found the effort hard to measure, reckoned I could have given a bit more.

I think I was feeling a bit better towards the end, but again should have taken on a gel but didn't.

And home to a 2nd breakfast :-)

Legs again not too bad but calves need some stretching and rolling. But achilles ok running.

Weather nice again. Evenings getting a small bit brighter too.

Unusually there were no deer that I could see anyways this evening.

Luke Cage S01 E05

Long day down in South Kerry but good trip to Valentia and Bray Head. Few other jobs too. Got home and sat on the couch, came close to falling asleep and reckoned that would have been a good excuse not to train!

Putting high 5 zero in my bottle for the longer spins. Have to be careful though, tube is next to a tube of Vit C, although could make the spin more healthy.

Despite feeling tired legs were ok pedalling but maybe intensity could have been slightly better. New shoes arrived today but didn’t use them as would’ve taken too long to put on the cleats. At least the shoes fit.

Note
(rest day)

Taking it easy as planned. Suppose I did something sort of exercise related, cycling club registration was on. It’s an expensive business joining a cycling club and getting a racing licence at the same time.

Golf Course & Knockreer

Didn't need the torch too much this evening but was out running slightly earlier.

Happy with how the legs/body felt this evening, almost comfortable. Will see how long that feeling lasts for.

Was tired on Saturday evening after the cycle but felt better yesterday. Not sure how i'll be this evening as sleep was interrupted for an hour at around 4!

Monday - Turbo Trainer

Not sure what the plan is for the weekend yet, I am getting older this week so will see what effect that has.

El Chapo S02 E01

HR data on the missing list for the first 5 minutes or so. But HR at the end of the session definitely improved on last weeks effort so that's a positive in terms of recovery from illness over Christmas.

Legs feeling ok today too.

Ordered some new cycling shoes in the Chainreactions sale, had a voucher to use, for the turbo trainer. Will get new ones for the road at some point too.
