Upper Torc

Some terrain and trails. Both of which had snow, increasing in depth with height.

Track after first terrain section was clear enough but when the climbing started the snow increased in depth.

Spotted a runner on the track in front of me just before Killegy House, so usual story, had to catch and pass! Caught him at the other side of the open area but at this stage I realised there was another runner in front of him. Then caught another one higher up and finally a 4th runner. Really didn’t expect to meet anyone. Not sure why they were out but I’m sure they were wondering what I was doing, they were a group of sorts.

Went to the top but with most/low cloud there was no visibility. Decided against going straight down so followed the track downhill which was much easier running than going up.

Bit more terrain to get back to the car. Left calf/Achilles wasn’t feeling too good nearing the top of the climb but legs felt better after finishing than they did on Friday. Less road today I suppose.

ahr:142 max:153

Avg Cadence = 88rpm

Downloaded 4 Narcos episodes yesterday but no subtitles! Had to think again so watched half a film.

With the not so straightforward start I felt more interested than I thought I would be on the bike.

Glutes tight before but no worse during or after.

Thinking a bt about Monday's now, 6-8 are busy for the next few weeks, so fitting in something before or after might be tight.

Muckross

Bad start when the first jeep coming against me managed to fire a heap of slushy slow at me from the road. So needed a bit of time to dry off!

Ran on the road, up and down the hill from Home. Then onto more snowy ground in the national park. A lot more footprints on the paths and tracks in the park than I thought there would be.

Left Achilles and calf not feeling fantastic. Left calf very tight when I got home. Probably some irony given the weather conditions that I got the ice out for my legs after running.

Snowed for most of the run, light, but into my face coming home.

Narcos S03 E01

Storm Emma, where is she? Finished at work at 1 but still no sign of her by dinner time. Feeling a bit let down, had snowman making planned for tomorrow.

Left glute felt a bit tight earlier but not an issue during or afterwards.

Still a slight sniffle so will find out later or tomorrow if this training was a good idea or not.

Note
(rest day)

Nose still a bit sniffly. I really am being too cautious. Definitely training, indoors tomorrow.

Roads were fine in Kerry this morning, but snow from Macroom onwards. No problems getting home.

Note
(rest day)

Felt a bit of a sniffle going to bed last night and still the same today. Have running gear in the car but decided I won't use it. Will be ultra cautious! Am feeling tired too. Think I may have gone too far on Sunday, not that I would have changed how I raced, but need more recovery by the looks of things.
