Taking it easy today and getting started on the touristing. Did start with supermarket in nearby town, and made sure to check opening times.

First chateau was closed since it was a Monday, as the 2nd. Did find Chateau de Breze was open and was pretty cool with its underground tunnels.

Calf could be felt when walking but not that uncomfortable.

Le Puy Notre Dame

Since no dinner on the cards, no restaurants or shops open, decided to go for a run before having some bread/rice cakes & nutella for dinner. Tasty.

Sun out too so nice start to the holiday.

Basically a mix of roads and tracks, but the tracks were mostly hard so keeping it classed as a road run.

Nice trail nearing home, the last couple of km, although just as I was leaving the hamlet before the trail, right calf started to hurt a bit, so that slowed me down until home. That was a bit of a stressful end to the run.

Got on the bike when I got home. Avoided the showers that were going today, so that was a bonus. Felt like a headwind on the way up. Found the climb a struggle, wasn't feeling great in my upperbody, not sure if it was lungs or stomach causing me to feel a bit off.

Still tried to push the climb and thankfully after the climb I spotted a bike in front so that was good motivation to get the last 1-2km done.

Just before the main climb started Garmin Edge said it lost satellites but found them shortly after. But upon synching between Garmin and Attackpoint it imported as around 840 hours of a session, but only 30 odd km. I looked at the GPX file and it seems after the Garmin found the satellites again the date jumped forward to 2020. Seems I was moving so fast I was able to time travel.

At least now I got the ride onto Strava, not that i'm too happy with that since climb time isn't great. I'll blame the wind since I got a PR on the first part of the descent.

Must remember to get brakes looked at too when I get back from my holidays.

Another UCC day.

Felt a bit tired after college, stayed up watching Tour of California finishing on Mount Baldy, tough finish.

Went to Turners Cross to see Cork City hammer Drogheda too, and listened to Leinster lose on the radio, good evening :-)

Last few lectures in UCC before exams next month. Research project handed in, taken a bit of time the last few weeks.

Damp roads my side of town after a heavy shower but dry over on the other side.

Calves still tight and a few other muscles still complaining. But was pedalling ok.

Headwind it felt after fossa so was looking forward to that going home.

Wore a rain jacket so nobody will know that jersey (TdeM) wasn't matching the shorts! The shame.

Oh my god, the DOMS!!!
Calves are in an awful state, and some other muscles higher up are complaining too, but not as much as the screaming calves.

Felt I had to try and do something so went for an easy run, mostly on grass.
