Going to start back running tomorrow, or at least try, with a progressive increase in time each run. Starting at 20 minutes and stopping at 40, if I can run 40 then reckon i'm ok to do more. All going well then should be back to normal next week.

Monday - Turbo Trainer
Tuesday - Running (20)
Wednesday - Turbo Trainer
Thursday - Circuits
Friday - Running (25)
Saturday - Running (30)
Sunday - Turbo Trainer (or bike if the weather is good)

Might switch Saturday & Sunday.

Turbo Trainer 45:09 [2]
ahr:151 max:165

Avg Cadence = 95rpm

Another session with cadence doing alright for itself. Legs have no excuse really, nothing else to cause them trouble at the moment like running.

Wanted to do this when I got home but IOA conspired against me, had a short tele-meeting at 8, and didn't get home until late as was at something after work. So just made kick off.

Watched the match while having my dinner, then the 2nd half, followed by some of the celebrations and interviews. Then put on some cycling gear! Late I know but no reason not to train.

Wasn't ideal getting off the bike and going to bed shortly after but was ok.

ahr:144 max:162 slept:9.0

Avg Cadence = 95rpm

Just watched telly, Ireland's Fittest Family. Looks like it worked out well motivationally speaking as cadence was up and stayed pedalling for almost an hour. I must say the bog that was in the end of the show for the eliminator looked seriously tough, fair play to the family that won that challenge. Other family had to be pulled by rope out of the mud/bog/water.

Weather shockingly bad today so not as upset now missing out on Connacht Champs. Ended up deciding not to run so it'll be Tuesday before I try again as in Tralee late tomorrow.

ahr:146 max:160 slept:7.0

Avg Cadence = 92rpm

Late night getting home from Cork so had a lie in this morning. Weather is fairly minging outside so hopped up on the bike, as planned. Only managed the half hour but with more effort.

Not sure whether to run tomorrow or hold off until Monday, didn't get much stretching done yesterday, but will get a lot done today.

slept:6.5 weight:70kg (rest day)

No training today as had to back to cork for a SURRRISE party for my mother. Worked out very well in the end, she didn't have a clue. "Why didn't ye warn me?", because it wouldn't have been a surprise then!

So no chance to train.

Feel motivation for logging on attacpoint has dropped in recent weeks. Still reading it though but not the same urgency to upload training. Really need to get back running properly, get my head back in the winter training groove. Just barely ticking over at the moment on the turbo which is not what I want to be doing.

Core 59:44 [3]
ahr:117 max:164 slept:7.0 shoes: Adidas Supernova Black (2015)

3 circuits with 2 ab sessions in between. So wasn't an easy evening. Felt like I wasn't under too much stress, think my intensity dropped a bit, did increase things for the last circuit though. Mountain climbers after push ups weren't fun, same as lateral bear crawl after burpees, not easy.

No running today in circuits.

Shameless S02E02

Another boring turbo session. Didn't go too badly though.

Leg feeling better after physio last night.

Physio 1:00:00 [0]
slept:7.0

Physio described my problem as being a pre-injury!
So think that means ticking the injured box would be wrong.

Left quad isn't in good shape, not extending as much as it should do. So lots of stretching needs to be done.

I can do some running, but building up, rather than getting straight back into it. Orienteering on Sunday is out though :-( Might go for a jog on Saturday/Sunday to start back. Gives me a few days of stretching before then.

Wasn't a pleasant hour, a lot of hurt.

But better to get this issue sorted than to end up with a bigger problem.
9 PM

Core 3:00 [3]

Not as much this evening. Bit tender after physio and back was sore after yesterday so a bit tentative about what i'm doing.
