slept:7.75 (sick) (rest day)

Early start today due to the Rugby otherwise I could've easily slept in. Same as getting up for work!

Chest a bit better today but definitely still not working. Cold also present, so wouldn't mind getting rid of it, bad this morning, improved during the day, but after getting a bit worse this evening.

Chest still bollocksed. No race tomorrow but have decided to man up and do the intermediates next weekend which'll be a serious shock to the system I imagine.

SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very pissed off, means I probably can't race on Sunday. So since WOC i've been sick on 3 occasions and have missed things I wanted to do. Turning out to be a shite September.
Feeling a bit better than yesterday evening, but chest is srewed, doctor after lunch.
3 PM

Note

Doc prescribed antibiotics, same doc and drugs that I got last time. So we'll see how far these get me.

Thinking Sunday mightn't happen so may have to run Intermediate next week to get the XC fix (suffering) I'm intent on getting. Might go running on Tuesday with the Riocht lads if chest clears.

Pretty sure i've had a chest infection last few days, not a bad one though, so debating whether a rest this evening is in order to help clear the thing before running tomorrow.
I've been sick more in September than i've been healthy.

11am Not training for next 3 days, need to give chest a chance to clear, not happy resting!

Had physio earlier, no problem with my hamstring that the physio could find, although the left calf was not good, so possible that's manifesting itself in my hamstring. Don't know why it didn't occur to me before I went to the physio, but maybe it's nerves in my back (psyiatica, or whatever way you spell it) causing the trouble from lifting boxes and a big tv on Sunday. Should be fine to run on and i've got a few days until the race this coming Sunday. Hamstring still not feeling right this afternoon but i'm hoping tomorrow it'll be different.

Cycling next couple of nights, might try running Friday, and then rest on Saturday.

I hate wind.

Had a few thoughts on routes this evening with Castleisland being the first destination and then going from there. On the road out the wind was really strong into my face so reconsidered where I was going, route I took had a tailwind on the open mountain part which was class. But to get there i'd to climb a hill where I felt quite good, and suffer through the wind that I already mentioned for at least 16km.

There was a small shower on the descent from the top but decided to forego putting on my jacket as it looked like a shower. The climb up from Reanagowan Cross was ok, but getting near the end I stopped to put on my jacket as it started raining again, and from the dump it was downhill all the way home. Wind was a bit annoying on the descent and road surface felt rough. It also rained, not that heavy, but annoying on the bike.

Went home along the Bracker O'Regan Road which I had a tailwind for so that went quickly. Then the last bit down from Mounthawk was into a headwind and rain.

Body survived ok, shorter cycle tomorrow as i've to go eat cake in Killarney.

Physio session booked for tomorrow, not happy to need one so soon. I may as well book one for next week too if I race again this weekend! Calves are very tight but hamstring is a problem, physio will fix it, right one which was broke last week is now fixed. Not going to go to circuits after work, wouldn't be a good idea. Turbo trainer instead, spin the legs for a bit.

Bit windy tonight, coming from the south, so was tough at times. Legs held up, didn't feel hamstring too much, only once or twice, other parts were fine. Was pleased with how I got up the few hills. Kept gears low to spin the legs more which was fine, also easier doing this into the wind than pushing in a big gear.

Got a sore throat so will take it easy today, wasn't feeling too good yesterday evening but better now. Legs are also sore, particularly calves and left hamstring. Hamstring was not sore when I went to bed! So plenty of stretching in the office today.
