Note

6446m climb, 92km, 41hrs 35 mins, 16 highest Wainwrights (no 16 by luck rather than judgement) and £951.25 (so far) for Cancer Research UK.
www.justgiving.com/Holly-Stodgell

Walking 3:14:51 [3] 8.0 km (24:21 / km) +640m 17:24 / km

No 15, Blencathra.
Just to get it over & done with safely, rather than having fun on Sharp Edge up and a good looking descent, it was just up & down Scales Fell. I want to come back & do Sharp Edge :)
Rain, hail, wind, but views off the top & a very happy Hols.

Walking 7:08:31 [3] 20.1 km (21:19 / km) +1613m 15:13 / km

No 11, Catstye Cam
No 12, Helvellyn
No 13, Nethermost Pike
No 14, Raise

Yay! The weather gods were on our side, the decision to swap today & Skiddaw worked out, as did the day we did Fairfield rather than a rest day - doing Fairfield on top of these would have been tough! It was so nice out we went round the back of Sheffield Pike on the descent, though :)
Good to have the support crew of Sue, Mark, Em & Dad (yay) as well as Mum and 2 mad dogs.
Cold & windy on top, but dry and cloud-free.

Thursday May 28, 2015 #

Walking 3:33:55 [3] 10.22 km (20:56 / km) +658m 15:50 / km

No 9, Skiddaw Little Man
No 10, Skiddaw

Windy, windy, blowing a gale, had to hold Hols down while not feeling so steady myself!! Not a good day to be on top of Swirral Edge or even Helvellyn, so we went for a quick up & down of a boring lump.
Good views, and entertaining looking at the inexperienced & unprepared.
The rest of the day was a girly day in Keswick - recommend the Java coffee shop on the main street, good cake!!

Walking 3:31:11 [3] 7.55 km (27:58 / km) +657m 19:29 / km

No 8, Fairfield.

Today was meant to be a rest day, but Mum decided it would be better to have an easy day and get Fairfield out the way 'cos to do it on the same day as the Helvellyn ridge and Catstye Cam could make it too tough.
The weather forecast was for rain in the afternoon, so we just went up & back the shortest, easiest way.
It was pretty horrible up on top.
Went shopping in Ambleside in the afternoon heavy rain and now have a waterproof that fits (and will fit for a while!!) and some waterproof trousers (that make me look fat!!) ready for tomorrow. Also have a straw hat - optimistic, but very cool!!

Tuesday May 26, 2015 #

Walking 6:35:50 [3] 15.27 km (25:55 / km) +924m 19:54 / km

No 6, Bowfell
No 7, Esk Pike

Beautiful walk, time to paddle (for me) in the Angle Tarn outflow. Chilly!!

Sunday May 24, 2015 #

Walking 7:49:07 [3] 14.5 km (32:21 / km) +1205m 22:51 / km

No 4, Great Gable
No 5, Pillar

Wondered if we would have time to do Pillar and get back for dinner/pub quiz, as Great Gable took longer than anticipated. I had a bit of a melt down and really didn't enjoy going up the rocky ridge - it wasn't scrambling, it was crossing boulder fields and they were all moving and I hated it. Coming down wasn't fun, either.
The scree run down off Pillar was really fun, though.
No views off the tops, but plenty in between, and the summits were in view for most of the walk!!

Not sure how the whole route has moved north a bit, but I blame Mum...

Saturday May 23, 2015 #

Walking 7:22:52 [3] 15.45 km (28:40 / km) +1231m 20:30 / km

No 1, Great End
No 2, Scafell Pike
No 3, Scafell

Was all great once we got to Great End, which took for ever, except for the summit of Scafell Pike, which was standing room only. Loved the climb up to it, though.
Descent back to Wasdale Head was horrible, steep & painful.
Game on :)

Tuesday May 12, 2015 #

Dance (Tap) 45:00 [3]
(injured)

A bit achey afterwards, so no orienteering, but OK.

Survived :)

Sunday May 10, 2015 #

Saturday May 9, 2015 #

Orienteering race 28:15 [2] 2.0 km (14:08 / km)
(injured)

Crutched my way around the B final as I was feeling left out.
Didn't come last, & it was really good fun!

Friday May 8, 2015 #

Note
(injured)

Doesn't feel ready to try a jog, & it's still a bit tender, & Mum says it's still a bit swollen. No O for me this weekend.
I hate my knee :(

Monday May 4, 2015 #

Note
(injured)

Medial collateral ligament strain.
Can't try a jog on Friday unless I can walk no problem at all on Thursday, can't run on Sunday unless I can jog with no problems on Friday, & can't run on Saturday no matter what.

Saturday May 2, 2015 #

Note
(injured)

No PSSA, a few hours in New Cross A&E instead seeing as rest, ice, compression, elevation, neurofen wasn't working.
No fracture to see on the xrays, but swelling, crepitus, tenderness, cake and sympathy. It needs to be better next weekend, and even more in 3 weeks time!

Friday May 1, 2015 #

Trampolining 1:00:00 [3]
(injured)

Got back summies sorted, sort of.
Last jump of the day was meant to be back summie, straddle pike, back summie. Went off on a mad bounce on the straddle pike and landed it funny. Got carried home with an ice pack and was allowed to eat a curry in the lounge!!!

Oh, and I cycled to and from Emmas, on my road bike, on my own :)
