Running 7:20 [3] 1.35 km (5:26 / km) +35m 4:49 / km

Warm up with the Possums group from Gun Club to the quarry

Running 34:04 [3] 0.81 km (42:03 / km) +73m 29:00 / km
ahr:124 max:179

We had 3 people come along tonight and give us a training session on the most efficient way to be climbing and descending hills. I attended the same session a couple years ago, so it was a nice refresher. Still can't say that i'm super confident, especially on the power line clearing that was chosen for the descent given the steepness and loose gravel.

Running 8:25 [3] 1.47 km (5:44 / km) +105m 4:13 / km
ahr:173 max:186

Cool down back up to Gun Club. Some people went for a further run but my legs were pretty tired.
Ended up at Lowlands with Steven and his work mates for bare foot bowls. Have to say, i had a really fun time!

Netball 30:00 [3]

Started a bit late tonight as both sides were waiting for 5 players so that we could take the court.
I played WD for the first half and then C for the second half. Thought it was a very hard and fast-paced game, as evidenced by the amount of sweating and puffing i had going on.
Unfortunately we lost...

#17 Waratah Rail
44 - 2 = 42pts

Thought my running was pretty strong, especially since i haven't been running of late and the recent knee issues.
Ended up stuffing around at 3A as i didn't read the map correctly to know which electricity pole i was meant to be looking at. Then immediately after at 2G i didn't read the clues properly and was looking for the answer to 2E before realising that i was looking for 2G. Silly errors.
After that i went fine both navigationally and reading the clues. A couple times i thought about changing my route to some controls - but then i reminded myself that when my brain wsa full of oxygen i had obviously chosen certain routes for a reason so i just stuck with what i had chosen.
Got back over the train line from 1H and decided to go for 3B and 2B. Made it to 2B at 45:07 so then tried to pump it back. Clearly i didn't have much juice left in the tank.
Chatting with Nicole.H after the event, she ended on 51pts with no time lost, and only ran an extra 500m than me. Just goes to show how important route choice is and knowing which points to drop to get the most out of your route. Looking at the map now, i can see a better toute that would have picked me up more points and potentially gotten me in under the 45min mark. Ahh well, hindsight and all.

Running 30:00 [3]

Garmin wouldn't work for some reason. Usual Foreshore loop - company of Nic, Rob and Tam.

Strength + Conditioning 32:00 [3]

I led strength today. Broke it down into 3 sections of 10 exercises each - mostly 45sec on, 15sec off. Sometimes 25sec one side, 25sec the other and then only 10sec rest - depending on what the exercise was.
We were joined by Karen for the strength which was nice (:
