Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Orienteering race 1:41:28 [3]

3 days Fontainebleau Day 3

Really bad day physically. I totally cracked. No speed at all and lots of walking. Technically bad as well. I missed lots of time at control 2 (which seemed to be misplaced I was told afterwards). Confidence was gone and then again I trusted another runner more than me, which was wrong offcourse. In the end did some really stupid route choices due to my tiredness.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Orienteering race 49:28 [3]

3 days Fontainebleau ? Day 2

Middle distance. Today I was only going to trust myself. Couldn't find control 7 which seemed to be easy, and attacked control 9 without map contact which I paid in cash offcourse. Later on it got more difficult technically and I had trouble finding attack points. Afterwards I had the same feeling as yesterday -not good not bad- but the results of the other (belgian) runners told me otherwise. KenP & JoostT ran about 10mins faster than me. OK, they are better than me but still 10mins is too much for a middle distance!

Orienteering race 1:28:35 [3] 9.7 km (9:08 / km)
shoes: Jalas

3 days Fontainebleau ? Day 1

Fantastic terrain which is quite challenging technically. Made about 8-10mins of mistakes, but some of them were caused by a lack of confidence. I trust other runners more than I do myself...
Physically it was really tough.

Day 3 Dilsenerbos (8/26)

Control one was a lucky control to me. Lost about 20sec there. From then on did a solid course, but physically it was really tough. At control 6 I thought the guys behind me had caught me up, but instead it was Joost Talloen, who immediately past me by and left me behind. At control 10 a French and Swedish guy caught up with me. The rest of the course I ran with the French guy. At control 16 we caught up Tomas Hendrickx and Desmond Franssen. But right at this moment I lost one of my contact lenses (again). Made a mistake at control 17 (was it because of the lens?), and then T&D were gone again. Finished the course with the French guy but because he took the lead most of the time I didn't sprint (Or was it because I just couldn't go any faster;)). End the 3 days with quite a good feeling...

Orienteering race 51:17 [4] 7.0 km (7:20 / km)

3d Belgium day 2 Opglabbeek (15/30)

Not my kind of forest. Way to green and to difficult to run through. Never got into a good tempo and making small errors at about every control. Physically not too good either. Also didn't take any rest yesterday afternoon, what probably is not that well for recuperation.

Orienteering race 59:38 [4] 8.8 km (6:47 / km)

3d Belgium day 1 Mazy Zuid (4/26)

Hot day. At control 3 I already caught up with Tomas Hendrickx. We each had our tough moments so we both took lead from time to time. At the end Tomas fell back a bit.Didn?t make big mistakes, only one of about 2mins at a control in an area were the trees were recently chopped. Therefore map was not correct anymore so to me it was a lucky control.
Physically it was very hard, but looking at the results it seemed the same for everybody (except for Thomas VDK)
Satisfied with my race, although I had no speed at all?
