Well up for this after an easy long day. In a properly competitive team even with the fun choosing the M60 to join Clive and myself. Chris Kelsey got the call after beating Gavin and Charles by 4 mins on the middle. With being a relative youngster for the class and being with the ladies in the mass start I was looking to be right at the front to give Chris some slip room in the hope that Clive would still be in touch for the finish.
From the start the ladies were considerably quicker than the men I don't think I ever really saw a man after half way to 1. Stayed on the path quite a way then followed up through the rodies to come out right by the control. 2 thought was in renterant but clearly not as the rodies went right across it flag up on edge of them on top of spur (contour hidden by circle) 3,4,5 with leading ladies being careful to make sure going for my flags. Found myself leading 6,7,8 Got past on longer gently up path for 9 but leader went in 50m early so in front again 10, 11, 12, 13 company as climbing for 14, 15, 16, 17 but able to hang on as the ladies I think were feeling the day before and walking bits. Pushed as hard as possible over the top for the flat last few. Glad to see 189which could of been tricky.
Did not realise I was meant to punch finish before handing over so had to go back after setting off Chris so ladies officially quicker.
Chris said he was a bit all over the place into the flags but did not do anything terrible and handed over to Clive still in the lead so the win was secured. Pleased I did my job after messing up Sunday. Fun racing with the ladies probably best the really quick ones were on leg 3.
