Since we were relatively close, KDU and I stopped by the DVOA meet. Relatively simple park on the side of a hill with wide open woods given the time of the year. Very similar to the French Creek terrain used for the A meet I attended a few years ago which makes sense since it's right next to it.

Only trouble was 4 (middle rootstock) which I approached from the N (overshot) and the control was placed on the S side resulting in some lost time.
Some fast runners down there.

Crooked Compass Adventure Trek
Fun event put on by Rootstock in coal mine country (pits, depressions, rock piles, leftover mining equipment) with multiple rogaine sections, a memory-O, an instruction-O and lots of rocky footing. Spent the day trading the lead with two other solos and the duo of Molly and Fritz.
In the end it was one solo and I along with Molly/Fritz at the last control, I punched and took off avoiding the awkward discussion of how we were going to finish it up. Fun day in the woods again.
Kudos to KDU who also raced solo and finished 3rd woman with 10 minutes to spare.
