Running warm up/down 5:00 [3]
shoes: Inov8 Flite 195

Running race 13:58 [3] 4.0 km (3:30 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Flite 195

Should have been a bit faster. Was lost a few times because people would step on the markers and so I would have to look around frantically for the next one. Also had to weave through all the 8km runners toward the end.

Running 17:20 [3] 4.0 km (4:20 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Flite 195

Just jogged the last 4km as a warm down.

Note

Went to the physio today. She straightened me a bit and released my glutes. Good to have a check up to make sure that everything is going ok. Feels like I have slight bruising on my feet from the run on saturday. So also had that treated.

Running race 6:20 [3] 2.0 km (3:10 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Flite 195

Trying to prepare for the time trial next week, so was just getting a feeling of the pace. Went well, apart from the first lap where I had to dodge an old woman walking in the first lane. Hoping to emulate this (and add on a final 3:10 km for either the first or second time trial).

Orienteering race (Phambili) 1:05:00 [3] 6.0 km (10:50 / km) +200m 9:17 / km
shoes: Hi Tec Infinities

Wasn't planning to race, but it was an opportunity to work on some of my sprint mistakes. Wore my glasses, so if anything I was able to read the map better.

2: probably should have gone east on the nice road, instead of through the marsh.
4: had caught up with Sarah to 3 and she caught up to me at 4. Seemed like there was more going on here, but it may just be me.
6/(9): Went straight up the hill to 9. Was really confusing (and I think unfair) to have 6 and 9 so close together, nevermind that when going south control 6 does actually look like a 9. Spent a lot of time at 9 before realising my mistake and going to 6. Same thing almost happened on the way back, found myself at 6 and had to relocate. Apparently this was a route choice, but I spent so much time figuring out where I was that I lost some valuable time.
8: No wall here to guide you in, so went too far east.
13: Not so sure about this control. Couldn't see the bend in the river so ended up going too far east and having to backtrack. The thicket was hardly a thicket at all, only around 1m high. Apparently the control was only put in to add to the distance of the course.
18: Small mistake having to run up the path after cutting through.

Not the best day for O.
