Slavonija & Baranja Open Day 2

Tells quite a bit how my max HR got barely over AET. So jogging all the way.
Never seen a deer run so fast in the forest. One went between me and another person and we had maybe 20m distance (so maybe 10m to the deer).

And a little travel tip. This morning we were stopped to the Croatian border. Border controller talked Croatian and Ferenc talked Hungarian back. Seemed we were doomed but then after a little silence Ferenc said the magic word "sport". Three people stopped the control and quickly opened the gate.

Slavonija & Baranja Open, 1st day, middle dist.

I was dead tired in uphills. It was fast and easy but the surface was all the way a little wet -> somewhat soft. I'm in a bad shape at the moment but probably not as bad shape as the result shows.

We asked Máté to plan a 1½h training. Failed to mention that for us, not to him ;)
First butterfly (east) with putting up controls. Then orienteering with few shortcuts (problems with knee, and fitness) and last loop with collecting controls. With Nizkane, Máté and Péter (our host). I'm pretty sure I'll be quite tired after the trip.

Night training by Máté. Same terrain as in night-o world champs 2013.
Lots of mistakes but still great fun. Made quite rookie mistake with Teemu to #11. If there is a path to cross on the way to the control point, one should cross a path. We didn't.

Any idea why both me and Teemu had the exact gps-mistake at 3.9km? Solar wind? The routes should be on top of each other.

Morning with Krisztian in Budapest. Only 12000 steps and something like 300m of climb. But views were worth it.

Then after some driving we arrived to Pécs. Straight from the car to do some line orienteering first (map not shown) and the 5.4km with contour map. Took only about double the time it took for Máté. Already at this point of training camp quite tired :)
Knee reminds of itself all the time but not really painfull.
