Note
(rest day)

If my calculations are correct, I will lose 0.02 pts to Wilho in ranking. And if that wouldn't be enough, my saturday's performance is 0.2 pts away from being the 5th best competition this year. Meaning that if I would've been 42nd instead of 44th, I would be ahead of Wilho...

Straight to the emit clearing.

Orienteering race 1:29:18 [4] *** 9.9 km (9:01 / km)
shoes: VJ Panther

FC night-o final B1
My stomach was twisting and turning before the start and running didn't particularly help. But can't say that the performance came as bad as it did because of it. Two pretty big mistakes cause of lack of concentration. From #6 to #4 and 180 degrees wrong direction from #9. After this Assu caught me and I followed him till #16. Then he made a mistake and I was alone. Then I made even a bigger mistake. Went 5m below the cp.
Weekend wasn't really what I expected of it after some good night-os. Most likely didn't even take over Wilho in ranking.

Have to tell you pretty funny dialogue from friday. AÖ caught me and had followed me for two legs. He shouted to Jaani Lantela in front that "in which group are you in?"
"Group 4"
"F*ck"
At this point I was second in that train and thus first in group 3-train. I shouted backwards "For quite some time I've just followed Jaani and haven't read the map. But I'm sure Jaani's forking is close to our's so we get at least near...". After I had found the cp, some random guy told me that my comment as a leader of the train didn't really build up the confidence in me.

FC night champ qual.
Straight up the first leg was bas ass. I found it well but spent 1-2min too much getting there. The swamps were really tough to go through. Then some easier legs. They went well. At #9 I realised next one is the one that separate boys from Nordbergs. I turned out to be a boy... Then AÖ caught me and I got him out of the woods in good time.

Whoopee, someone caught my intense concentration.

Note

A discussion yesterday led to a suspicion that the last friday's #4 would've been in a wrong place. This led me putting the GPS on top of the map and seems like it is in a correct place (I put #3 and #5 in right place and didn't touch #4).
And when I said there was a map sign worth checking for on the way to #1, now you can all see it. 200m before #1.

Floorball 55:00 [3]
shoes: Adidas Stabil

Workplace's session.
I was supposed to be a defender all the time so I wouldn't run too much but my side kept on slowing down till the finish and I had to go and keep the tempo up in attack.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

With Assu and Tomi.

Orienteering race (night-o) 51:29 [5] 6.3 km (8:10 / km)
shoes: VJ Panther

Yökuppi 8, Sammalisto (FC middle distance terrain).
It wasn't a mass start as it first was supposed to but a group start. I started with Antti Ö. He gave me the leading position since I had visited this first control twice (FC qual and last monday's weekly evening event). I made a very small mistake drifting a bit too much left but as it turned out, that was in the top3 of the biggest mistakes of the night.
First loop pretty well. Some hesitation at #3. At #4 teamed up with some guy that had some of the Finnish paper industry companies written in the back. He made a mistake running back to the #1 (this time #7) and I was alone. Next controls all alone and those went almost perfect. From #11 I left towards #16 but at the clearing realised the mistake and took the bearing towards #12. 12-16, no mistakes. Eventhough #15 had all the abilities to be the good performance crusher, I found it spot on. Close to #16 I saw a pretty fast train moving along from left and an enquiry about the train's kind, a familiar voice told me "the leading train kind". I had my doubts, since all of the guys had left before me but hopped on anyhow. It took me to the finish pretty well, with one small mistake.
I'm happy about the performance and the fact that quite a lot of good guys (Mamia, Reitti) are behind me. But can't help wondering how the hell it's possible to go that course in 43min...

Note

Quite some ranking points from district night champs: 67.7. It felt like ~60 pts race...
This'll mean that it's gonna be battle of the fittest vol. 2 in the FC night champs with Wilho.
373 Kauppi   Ville     LS-37 63.45
389 Hirvonen Kimmo LS-37 62.63
Same time I'd like to inform you all that Hirppa vs. jusbet 2010 ended 7 - 4. So those writings e.g. at Yökuppi news etc. are pretty much misleading.
6 PM

Running 45:00 [1] 8.0 km (5:38 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel DS Trainer XIII

Haven't done a proper jog for a while so decided to go and see how far the autumn is on the other side of the GBL.

Orienteering 49:57 [3] 5.3 km (9:25 / km)
shoes: VJ Panther

Club champs.
This was more of a scouting for wednesday's Yökuppi. Didn't go full speed, mostly cause I was going straight up to FC Lahti - VPS without a shower. I also wanted to continue the well initiated "how to find controls without mistakes - orienteering". Didn't though start with that mode on but after #1 I rebooted my concentration hard drive and it worked.
