Decided to do the 5 x 1000m with start every 6min. Thought it would serve the next week better.
At the beginning of warm up I felt really good. Was expecting some low 3 mins. But the closer I got to Kukonkoivu, the feeling faded away slowly. Maybe the starting drizzle washed away most of the enthusiasm.
First one was too slow. It felt easy also afterwards the hr tells the same. It seems that on the second one I found my pace. Three times the same time and almost the same avg hr. Then to the last one I gave it all. Last lap felt really bad (= good) and it felt like the head wind at the last corner was almost stopping me.
I was hoping better times but:
1) Not sure could it be possible that the track is a bit long but my gps gave avg distance of 1017m. Only one lap was under 1000m (997m). after all you would think that running in circle with gps, the distance would in fact be less than the real one..
2) it was cold and wet (lot of clothes on me)
3) previous this type of training is from August
Comparing these two previous runs, seems like my hr is much slower this time around. Especially recovery avg hr is 15 beats less
than in Aug.
