Decided to do the 5 x 1000m with start every 6min. Thought it would serve the next week better.
At the beginning of warm up I felt really good. Was expecting some low 3 mins. But the closer I got to Kukonkoivu, the feeling faded away slowly. Maybe the starting drizzle washed away most of the enthusiasm.
First one was too slow. It felt easy also afterwards the hr tells the same. It seems that on the second one I found my pace. Three times the same time and almost the same avg hr. Then to the last one I gave it all. Last lap felt really bad (= good) and it felt like the head wind at the last corner was almost stopping me.
I was hoping better times but:
1) Not sure could it be possible that the track is a bit long but my gps gave avg distance of 1017m. Only one lap was under 1000m (997m). after all you would think that running in circle with gps, the distance would in fact be less than the real one..
2) it was cold and wet (lot of clothes on me)
3) previous this type of training is from August
Comparing these two previous runs, seems like my hr is much slower this time around. Especially recovery avg hr is 15 beats less than in Aug.

I was supposed to conquer Varrassuo today but when I saw it this morning, I soon didn't want to. You could hardly see any "moss". It was fludding really bad. Instead I pushed the hard training one day and did an easy one.
Tomorrow it's either 5 x 1000m at Kukonkoivu or Varrassuo.

Didn't have done a proper long run for a while so now it was time. Good that I kept my head and did this pretty easy cause at the moment I just wanna do every training with full intensity. Laaso-hills, Varrassuo bog, Tiirismaajuoksu route testing...all of those and more keep haunting me until I do them. At least one of 'em should be crossed out this weekend.

Workplace's session. Good game though we had only four guys on our side. Haven't been able to play with such intensity since March.

Afterwards went to help at "adult orienteering school" (nothing to do with next monday's FC Lahti game). There was over 70 people there. I was overwhelmed.

Warm up - Tapanila to start place and one lap.
Warm down - to Tapanila.

Running race (XC-test run) 26:13 [5] 5.18 km (5:04 / km) +75m 4:43 / km

I wasn't expecting too much from this. Only one good night sleep after over 20km full speed run, legs and whole body felt tired and the thigh was still very stiff. The track was also very wet and the snowy winter had cut few big trees on the middle of the trail. Two of them were in at the bottom of the fastes downhill and it stopped the speed almost entirely.
All this put aside, running felt pretty good. Much better than I expected. I was tired but still I could push pretty hard in the uphills. Due to the low expectations I may have started a bit too slow cause only the last uphill felt bad. And the last lap was ½min faster than the first two. I also lost only ½min (let alone the trees add that much) to my record so I have to be pleased.
