Tiomila 2010 - Finspång. 3rd leg (långa natten).
Just during the last few hours my thigh got painfreee. It can also be that the excitement overlapped the hint of pain that still was there couple of hours before. It was still really stiff and I couldn't use the full range of my already awesome mobility.
After I had overcome the shock of spreading the huge map open, it started all well. I lead a 4-5 guy group to #1 (though I ran through it cause of misreading the code). Then some pretty fast swedish guy took the lead. In the forest I had no trouble of following him but on paths and especially downhills (cause of the thigh) I had. On leg four I drifted a bit to righ and made a very small mistake to #5 and this guys had vanished into the night. I took a long road choice #7 and got 3 guys with me. On #7 a very big train came from the right and our groups joined into one big night orienteering festival.
Slowly the big group dissolved to the dark woods and in a way by accident I was again with those three guys from the long road choice. Fortunately the oldest member of our squad was a solid navigator. His pace was a bit slower than mine but still he was all the time first on the cp. When I realised this I gradually started to lean on his navigation and reduced my own.
A bit before we briefly visited the CC my stomach started twisting and turning a lot. Few legs from this it made so much noise that my fellow train travellers eyeballed couple of times. Luckily I didn't have to use "bathroom".
The rest of the way went well and for the couple of last legs I could build some sort of sprint.
Secretly I was hoping for sub 2h but considering the lack of running and the condition the thigh was couple of days before, I'm moderately satisfied.

Slightly better again. If the progress continues this pace, I think I'm fit for the långa natten with ointments, pain killers and an ace bandage.
I still cannot bend my knee over 90-degree without some serious pain.

Update on my condition for 10mila:
Very little of improvement. Mostly in stairs. It hurts the most when I have to push my leg forward, e.g. when I put a shoe in my foot. Fortunately that line of motion is not the most common in forest running.
A small set back is that I forgot my Hirudoid Forte home and I can't do my daily dose of 3-4 ointmentations...
Edit.
Forgot to mention that the biggest concern at the moment is the knee. There's no pain but for some reason I have no control of it. It "wobbles" when I stand and it feels like it could bend too much backwards any time. Maybe the swollen muscle is pinching some nerve..?

Yökuppi 3
As fricken bad as it feels to admit, my over two year long consecutive yökuppi attendance will not be consecutive after today... I suppose I have to start a new one...

Klaani Special by PX.
I have some good and some bad news.. First good.
Running felt as good as it did in Dec-Feb. Almost exquisite. And it felt that I could've pick up the pace for 17km.
It's just that I may not run the 17km, or anything at all for a while... This the bad news btw...
On 9-10 I tripped and hat my left thigh to something hard. For ½ a minute I walked slowly but since the pain went mostly away, I continued to the finish. After I had stood still for couple of minutes at the finish I couldn't bend my knee at all cause there was stabbing pain in the thigh. Now few hours after the run the palm sized bruise has swollen quite a bit and walking is agony...
