Whatta terrain! Without some small areas with cut branches it would've been awesome. Almost total wilderness with varying terrain types.
At the change over Pexi gave me two tips, straight to #1 and a route choise to #5. While running to #1 I was in agony. Eventhough I had warmed up pretty good, the first uphills were a disaster (there were people passing me on both sides). But then near the control I saw M.Reitti and right after H.Räty (both are better than me and they had left 2-5min before me) and my mind cleared up. Suddenly I was in top form.
Eventhough Räty is normally a bit faster runner, this time I led the field. We had different forkings but always met at the gathering controls.
At #7 some VaajTe guy attached his car to our train. We punched the same time at #8-11 and only to the #11 we made a small mistake. Actually we ran almost together all the way to the finish but with a forking on #12. I'm almost pleased about the run, but not entirely. Somehow towards the end I felt like VaajTe/Räty speed wasn't enough for me but still I sticked with them... Well, my km-pace was the same as Jani's and he was pleased with his run so mine can't be that bad either.
I think finally after 20 years of orienteering, I've realised what needs to be done for solid performance. My proceeding is still pretty pausing once in a while but I'm not making any huge mistakes which have been my trademark for whole my career (and no one has the permission to start to talk anything about Hälvälä Yökuppi!!). And my self confidence has risen up quite a few nothces. E.g. all the time when we three ran together, I made my own decisions which is really rare.
Apparently KR isn't able to build up a RG so here's the

The whole team's performance was good. Pexi's especially. Compared to this millenium's LS-37 H21 results, this 36th place was a big improvement!
